Linda Carter of EastEnders will have a challenging Christmas this year as her ex-husband Mick Carter gets ready to marry Janine Butcher.
After nearly losing her infant Annie permanently when she relapsed earlier this year, Linda Carter (played by Kellie Bright) has recovered. But the mother of five will be devastated when Jada Lennox returns and forces her to spend Christmas alone (Kelsey Calladine-Smith).
When Zack Hudson (James Farrar), in a later scene, reveals Jada’s offer to take Alyssa to Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) for Christmas Day, Linda is upset.
Fans of EastEnders will recall that Jada left Walford in disarray.
The young mother was intimidated into fabricating evidence against Linda by Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks).
The landlady of the Queen Vic understandably has low expectations for Jada after nearly losing custody of Annie.
Jada admitted to Sharon that she had fabricated the evidence, but she did not reveal Janine was responsible.
The following week, Zack brings up Linda’s frustration by bringing up how much Sharon misses her granddaughter.
Linda makes the decision to stand by her friend because she wants to.
But if Linda says she’ll avoid people, does that mean she’ll be spending Christmas alone?
With Janine standing by Mick’s side, it is obvious that she wouldn’t be welcomed at the Vic.
Linda has come a long way this year and may spend Christmas alone in secret to prevent anyone from feeling bad for her.
Will Janine’s vicious actions finally come to light?
Actress Kellie, who plays Linda, has spoken out about Janine becoming the new Mrs. Carter.
She said: “Linda’s world has crumbled, it’s in tatters, but I think she’s resigned to it.
“From the moment she knew Mick and Janine were having a baby together, that was it because Linda knew Mick was never going to walk away from a child.
“The baby changes everything no matter what she thinks or says about Janine. Before the wedding, Linda had already let Mick go, but there is a shock and finality of Janine being the new Mrs Carter.”
“That’s what Linda has always been, so it’s another turn of the knife,” Kellie added.
Since Danny Dyer’s departure from the soap opera was announced earlier this year, EastEnders fans will say goodbye to Mick at Christmas.
When asked how it felt to say goodbye to Danny, Kellie remarked, “There were many tears from me both on and off screen! I detest change and I’m awful at saying goodbye. It does seem to be the end of an enormous era.
“It’s difficult to have someone in your life every day for nine years and then have to say goodbye to them. Even though I’ll continue to see Danny and talk to him frequently, things won’t be the same.
