Janine Butcher from EastEnders might experience heartache as a result of her accidently falling down the stairs of the tube station.
In scenes slated to air next week, fans of EastEnders might witness tragedy befall engaged couple Janine (played by Charlie Brooks) and Mick Carter (played by Danny Dyer). Not long after going to their first baby scan, the mum-to-be suffers from a terrible fall as she’s rushed to hospital.
The past few months have not been easy for Janine and Mick in EastEnders, especially with him getting closer to his ex-wife Linda (Kellie Bright).
Even though Linda admitted to Sharon (Letitia Dean) that she still has feelings for him, things got complicated when Janine made it known that she was expecting a child.
Viewers will see Linda accidentally left alone in The Vic in scenes airing next week as she works hard to serve customers and Mick supports Janine at their first pregnancy scan.
Sharon steps in to assist her friend, but the expectant parents soon return, and Linda is caught off guard when she finds out where they’ve been for so long.
When she is by herself, Janine enjoys the chance to tease Linda about her pregnancy and storms off to see her Community Payback Officer, Murray.
The expecting mother has an accident and falls down the stairs at the tube station before leaving alone.
In the meantime, Sharon tells Mick to be considerate of Linda when it comes to him and Janine, defending her friend.
But because Janine is with the paramedics and Linda sees her, they are both unaware of the tragedy as it happens.
Both attempt to reach Mick to inform him of Janine’s fall, but they are unsuccessful because he has lost his phone in the commotion surrounding the football game.
Despite their differences, the two women work things out as Linda cancels her appointment with Murray to accompany Janine as they travel to the hospital.
Shirley finds Mick’s phone as his stomach turns after hearing the news, while Murray goes to The Vic to try to find Linda.
When Mick returns, Janine confronts him about what she saw when she later saw Mick and Linda together outside, despite his attempts to defend himself. However, after Janine breaks the news, the ground is suddenly pulled out from under him.
One heartbreaking theory is that the couple will experience heartbreak when Janine informs them that the baby has passed away due to the fall.
Mick, who is distraught, goes outside to get some air and sees Linda waiting to be picked up from the hospital.
She comforts him over the tragic loss as he collapses in her arms, overcome with emotion.
But given that he picks his ex-wife over his intended spouse when he confides in her, could Mick begin to feel things he’s been trying to keep hidden?
After Danny Dyer served as The Vic’s landlord for nine years, viewers can expect to see Mick leave the BBC soap.
At the TV Choice Awards, actress Kellie Bright teased Danny’s departure by saying, “Obviously, Danny leaves over Christmas.
“In that case, what I can say is that the culmination will build to the climax. There is a slight tenseness between Mick, Linda, and Janine.
“I’ll say that Mick and Linda can always hope, in my opinion!”
