When Jack Branning’s attempts to shield Amy Mitchell fail, the policeman from EastEnders may lose both his job and his marriage.
When Jack Branning (played by Scott Maslen) learns that his daughter Amy (Ellie Dadd) intends to have sex with young man Denzel Dane, he learns some worrying information (Jaden Ladenga). The policeman in the BBC soap faces an unwelcome chain of events as a result of this discovery that could bring his entire world to an end.
The Branning family drama on this week’s episode of EastEnders starts when Lily (Lillia Turner) expresses concern about Amy’s intention to sleep with Denzel.
Lily worries Amy and Denzel might do something they’ll later regret when Jack and Denise (Diane Parish) go out for the evening.
When Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) interrogates her daughter, she learns the information and decides to inform a furious Jack.
When Jack returns home and sees Amy and Denzel hugging, he makes the connection between the two and throws the teenager against the wall.
Jack was unaware that Denzel had told Amy he wanted to take things slowly, so he skipped the question.
Amy insists that nothing happened between them, and the family tries to soothe a furious Jack, but he won’t listen.
Even Delroy Atkinson’s Howie Danes, Tameka Hemson’s Kim Fox, and Denise are unable to quell his rage as he continues to pin the young student against the wall.
Patrick Trueman (Rudolph Walker) and Howie are left to support the young Denzel as Amy’s father launches into an enraged tirade.
With the Foxes and Brannings, things seem to have calmed down as Denzel also maintains his innocence.
A call from Jack’s boss causes a series of unfortunate events for the police officer, though.
His boss informs Jack that he has been accused of assaulting Denzel and that as the investigation gets underway, his job is in jeopardy.
The irate father decides to vent his frustrations to Samantha Mitchell (Kim Medcalf), who is willing to lend her ears and is present in Peggy’s.
Naturally, the two get closer after a few drinks, and Sam unexpectedly leans in for a kiss.
The policeman is still reeling when a video of his kiss from an unknown sender shocks him.
Denzel is the target of Jack’s apology, but by this time, things have already gotten out of hand.
This is due to the fact that Denise also receives the obscene video as soon as Jack learns he has been fired from his job.
After Jack’s enraged partner confronts Sam, Amy receives unwelcome messages about rumors that she had slept with Denzel, casting doubt on the happiness of her family.
What will happen to Jack and Denise’s relationship, and who might be trying to get Jack fired or even kicked out of Albert Square?
Given that many Mitchell family members have recently dealt with the police, perhaps one of them is to blame for Jack’s con?
