Reiss Colwell, Dot Cotton’s great-nephew, was Sonia Fowler’s most recent love interest.
In EastEnders, Sonia Fowler (played by Natalie Cassidy), who recently acquired Dot Cotton’s (June Brown) home, is about to learn some unfavorable news. The stalwart of a BBC soap asks a former flame for advice as she struggles with what actions to take.
The revelation that Sonia owes a sizable sum in inheritance tax on Dot’s home will be revealed in the episodes airing the following week.
The Walford nurse starts to worry as she considers how she can pay the enormous bill.
Fans of EastEnders will recall that Sonia and Reiss Colwell had a brief romance (Jonny Freeman).
But after promising to stay in touch, Dot’s great-nephew ghosted Sonia.
Sonia will be seen calling the accountant in later scenes to request assistance.
Reiss ignores the nurse but won’t make it right by offering the nurse any guidance.
Sonia realizes she will need to sell Dot’s home in order to cover the inheritance tax bill, but she is devastated because she does not want to move.
Sonia is shocked when she discovers Reiss at her door later in the week.
The accountant offers to help her find a way to pay the bill and apologizes for ghosting her.
Sonia and Reiss sit down to review the situation and determine whether there is any chance that Sonia can keep the house.
The nurse then approaches Reiss, but will he return the favor?
Reiss might leave Walford and ghost Sonia once more if he spends the night there.
Can Sonia trust Dot’s great-nephew or is there something he’s hiding?
Sonia was observed calling Reiss on New Year’s Eve, but the call went to voicemail.
Following his debut at Dot’s funeral, Reiss’ return was anticipated by EastEnders viewers.
He’ll be back soon, I’m sure, one poster in a Digital Spy forum commented. He and Sonia seemed to work well together, in my opinion. He must have a secret because it’s a soap opera, but I doubt they’ll do another Sonia Scam Story so soon after Rocky.

It was a smart move to have him show up as a relative at Dot’s funeral if the writers are aiming for a gradual introduction.
