The most devoted viewers of EastEnders will recall Yolande Truman, who was wed to Patrick Truman, a popular character in the soap opera, before their separation in 2009.
Since 2001, beloved EastEnders character Patrick Truman (played by Rudolph Walker) has graced the Square with his presence. Patrick has remained on the soap opera throughout the years, with a changing family and home. He currently resides with Kim Fox (Tameka Empson), who he mentors along with Denise Fox (Diane Parish). In upcoming scenes of the BBC soap opera, Patrick will be seen missing his ex-wife Yolande (Angela Wynter), who hasn’t been seen since her brief return in 2017. Could the couple get back together, paving the way for Yolande to return permanently?
Several enduring characters from the soap opera have returned to Walford after spending years away from the Square.
According to confirmed EastEnders spoilers, Yolande might be the newest member.
In yet-to-air episodes, Patrick is shown missing his ex-wife and thinking back on their happy times together.
He places a wager on a horse named Little Prayer in honor of Yolande’s 70th birthday because that was the song that was played at their wedding.
When his horse comes in, Patrick treats the family to a celebratory meal at Walford East.
The long-term character announces he’s going to see Yolande and intends to win her back after warning Denzel Danes (Daden Ladega) not to take love for granted.
He will likely return with the well-known character, which suggests yet another former resident of Walford will be present.
Yolande moved in with Patrick to live in Walford after they first met during a holiday romance, and the two later got married.
For many years, they were happily married, but sadly, their romance did not last.
Despite being one of Walford’s most adored pairs, the couple split up in 2009 when Yolande made the decision to go.
Even though it might come as a surprise that Patrick would want Yolande back after all these years, there have been some recent hints.
In 2022, Yolande was finally mentioned in the soap opera.
Suki Panesar, a Minute Mart employee (Balvinder Sopal), called her to discuss extending the lease for the corner store.
In addition, Patrick recently seemed to rekindle his romantic side after being single for years.
He pretended to be Vi Highway’s husband and schoolboy Denzel’s grandfather as a favor (Gwen Taylor).
The pair had to speak to a local reporter about their epic love story, and they both enjoyed playing the part.
Patrick appeared upset that Vi was leaving the Square and may have hoped to develop a romantic relationship with her in person.
It’s possible that the incident has made Patrick realize how much he misses being in a relationship, and that Yolande has rekindled his feelings for her.
Yolande may soon be back on television given that a number of soap opera characters return each year and that Patrick is currently on the road trying to win back his ex-girlfriend.
