Following the actor’s appearance on EastEnders enjoying a day out with former BBC coworkers, fans have speculated that a Walford favorite will soon make a comeback.
Dean Gaffney, the star of Robbie Jackson, has made several comebacks in the BBC soap opera. He first portrayed the iconic EastEnders character from 1993 to 2004, returning for one-off episodes in 2010 and 2015 before re-joining the show for a two-year stint from 2017 to 2019. He was photographed with Jamie Borthwick, who portrays Jay Brown, and Natalie Cassidy, who plays Sonia Jackson, Robbie’s sister. The reunion has been anticipated by fans due to rumors that Robbie may be making a comeback.
As a young Robbie who joined EastEnders, Dean, 44, was hardly ever seen without his dog, Wellard.
When the actor was seen eating lunch with the two current BBC soap opera stars, rumors spread that Dean might be preparing to reclaim Robbie’s role.
When you have the January blues, the only thing to do is have lunch with these two, Natalie wrote in the caption of the photo she shared of the group on Instagram.
“I laughed so hard I almost peed myself. Thank you, @jamie b10 and @deangaffney1.
Her supporters quickly began to speculate that Robbie would be returning to the soap opera.
Many people left comments on the picture wondering if the actor would be playing the same part again.
Bring back Robbie, a user named dontchaprincess wrote on Instagram.
Hope he returns, and I hope the writers pay attention to their fans and bring him back, wrote bates jules.
kazinpink64 questioned “Will Robbie return? I’m watching an old episode of Eastenders where Sonia has a fictitious pregnancy. 3. I love you”
“An epic return to EastEnders?” wrote eehasdrama.
“Wow Dean! Is he back? wonderful news, “MzArtistry made a comment.
Wish Dean was Back in EE Loved Him, said hildabramley, while miss rocker 1988xx added, “Nice to See Dean Back If He Does.”
It seems like this is the perfect opportunity for Robbie to meet up with Sonia in Albert Square.
The character was thrilled to secure her future in the Square after learning that Dot Cotton (played by June Brown) had bequeathed her the home in Walford.
Robbie might be able to occupy a room at Sonia’s residence because Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks), who had also been residing with her, has since left the soap opera.
Additionally, Ricky Butcher (Sid Owen), Bianca Jackson’s (Patsy Palmer) ex, made a comeback just before Christmas, suggesting that there may be more room for the Jacksons to reconcile.
Robbie was last seen working part-time as a market inspector, but Kush Kazemi and Martin Fowler (James Bye) had strong opinions about how he handled things (Davood Ghadami).
He also traveled to India to see his ex-girlfriend Nita Mistry (Bindya Solanki) and son Sami, then came back with Sami.
Soon after, Nita came back to get their son, but months later, she told Robbie that Sami had been hurt, so he left Walford to go back and be with his family.
