In EastEnders, there can only be one Panesar patriarch, and Nish (Navin Chowdhry) is determined to take back the position he believes is rightfully his.
According to Navin Chowdhry, Nish has spent the last 20 years in prison for murder, but he has never forgotten about his family.
He regrets having missed out on 20 years of his children’s lives, and the actor says that he wants to reestablish contact with them in his own way. Nish blames everyone but himself despite the fact that he is desperately trying to rebuild the life he destroyed through his own actions.
This immediately puts Nish and his oldest son, Kheerat, at odds (Jaz Singh Deol).
According to Navin, Nish told Gurlaine Kaur Garcha that Kheerat had to take on the role of family patriarch and father figure at a young age. ‘ Nish readily acknowledges that Kheerat assumed that duty, which he is now legally unable to abandon because his father has been incarcerated.
Nish rekindles his relationship with Ash and Vinny (Shiv Jalota) because he is confident in his ability to win them over. He truly cares about them and loves them, but only on his terms. Nish probably recognizes a lot of himself in Kheerat and realizes he presents the biggest challenge. But if Nish is unable to convince Kheerat, he will remove him from the situation. Anyone who gets in Nish’s way is doomed to failure.
Without a doubt, Nish is a dangerous individual who has in the past abused and exerted control over Suki (Balvinder Sopal) and has no remorse for killing anyone who stood in his way. Should Kheerat be concerned about his father’s potential actions?
Navin explains, “Nish thinks the empire the Panesars created while he was in jail is his.” Conflict with Kheerat and Suki will follow. Nish is emerging as a man determined to take back what he feels is rightfully his.
In other words, Kheerat should be genuinely terrified.
