After the tragic disappearance of EastEnders pub Mick Carter, Linda Carter temporarily left Walford to be with her kids.
The character of Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) must now prepare for life without her ex-husband Mick Carter (Danny Dyer), with whom she had a brief reunion just hours before he was believed to have perished at sea. Chris Clenshaw, the show’s executive producer, has revealed there are many things in store for the cherished character and has teased “big plans” for the landlady of The Vic.
The executive producer teased Linda’s potential future storylines in interviews with thesuns.info and other media.
Linda is still very much at the center of Albert Square, and Kelly’s presence is wonderful, he said.
She won’t forget about Mick right away. It won’t be all smiles right away because she just got him back and then, obviously, he was taken from her.
“However, Linda has big plans. The project [Linda] is planning to shoot will be released right after our anniversary in February.
The executive producer teased future storylines for Linda in interviews with Express.co.uk and other media.
“It’s so great to have Kelly,” he said, adding that Linda is still a key figure in Albert Square.
She won’t dismiss Mick right away, I predict. It won’t be all smiles right away since she just got back together with him and then, obviously, he was taken away from her.
The plans for Linda, however, are substantial. Immediately following our anniversary in February, [Linda] is going to shoot something.
“It’s something that we as a show have not done before and Linda is at the centre of it,” he hinted.
The EastEnders boss went on to address Linda’s future in The Vic.
“There’s a question mark over the future of The Vic at the moment,” Chris revealed.
“Kellie knows what’s happening, we know what’s happening with The Vic and it’s very exciting.”
Fans of EastEnders will be aware that Linda is currently spending time with her children and away from Walford.
She will be horrified to return to a pub filled with patrons, according to spoilers.
Recent scenes show Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) sneaking into The Vic after robbing Denise Fox of her keys (Diane Parish).
He speaks up in an effort to keep the company running and in the hopes that Linda will hire him as compensation.
On the other hand, when Linda gets home in Wednesday’s episode, she angrily criticizes her neighbors for having fun.
She excommunicates everyone after accusing them of being indifferent to Mick’s death.
Later on in the week, Alfie surprises Linda with a vigil in the landlord’s honor after gathering his friends in The Vic.
Reflecting on their interactions with the adored member of the neighborhood, Mick’s friends and family.
However, the police searching for Linda interrupt the vigil.
The police may have information about Mick’s disappearance, though it is not yet known what they will say.
Will they break Linda’s heart by revealing they have discovered proof that Mick has passed away after making valiant efforts to save his ex-wife?
