Will he be able to get rid of the toxic patriarch?
In tonight’s episode of EastEnders (19th October), Kheerat Panesar (Jaz Deol) vowed to expel dad Nish (Navin Chowdhry) after exposing the breadth of Nish’s fabrications.
Recently, Suki (Balvinder Sopal) revealed to Kheerat that Nish was an abusive, domineering husband prior to his incarceration. Their neighbor and Suki developed a platonic friendship, and Nish killed him in retaliation. However, the Panesar kids were made to believe their father had killed to save the family.
After learning that his girlfriend Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) was aware of Suki’s relationship with Eve Unwin (Heather Peace) and his father’s return before he was, Kheerat gave her the cold shoulder as the most recent visit to Walford got underway.
Later, Nish approached Stacey at her van and persisted in making her feel good about himself. If only Kheerat would let him, he expressed the hope that they could mend fences. Stacey noted that telling Kheerat the truth about what she knew wouldn’t have helped when she located a mopey Kheerat.
Kheerat confided that he needed to shield his loved ones because he had been dealing with too many lies lately. He continued that he didn’t want to do it alone, and Stacey extended her hand, offering her support. Stacey couldn’t help making light of the situation at the Vic and urged him to consider his options carefully regarding Nish.
When Kheerat got back home, she told her brothers Ash (Gurlaine Kaur Garcha) and Vinny (Shiv Jalota) all about Nish’s murderous deeds. They had a difficult time accepting it until Kheerat described the fear in their mother’s eyes as she told him. As they asked Kheerat for advice on what to do next, Ash and Vinny started to realize that this made some sense of the past.
Nish doesn’t seem like the kind of man who will simply follow instructions, so Kheerat responded that they would just make him leave. Will he be able to win his children over to his side, or will Kheerat be able to get rid of him and keep the clan safe?
