In light of Charlie Brooks and Danny Dyer’s departure from the BBC soap opera EastEnders, actress Kellie Bright, who plays Linda Carter, has confirmed that the Janine Butcher we “all love to hate” will return in a final twist this Christmas.
This Christmas on EastEnders, the Janine Butcher “we all love to hate” will make one last appearance.
In the midst of a significant storyline on the BBC One soap opera for the also-departing Danny Dyer, who plays Mick Carter, Charlie Brooks will be leaving her role this Christmas. The evil Janine will reappear in a shocking twist. Before the trio’s double exit, actress Kellie Bright, who plays Linda Carter, has hinted at some major drama to come.
She implied that Janine will have one final twist to her story as Shirley Carter reveals her secret and chaos breaks out in the Queen Vic, and she confirmed that the evil Janine would be back in full force.
In reference to working with Charlie Brooks, Kellie stated: “My favorite part of the scene was watching Charlie Brooks play Janine at that particular time. We all love to hate the Janine that emerges in this scene.
She explained that when Mick learned Janine was expecting, things changed for him.
Linda’s world has fallen apart and is in ruins, but I believe she is accepting of it, said Kellie. Linda knew Mick would never walk away from a child, so the moment she found out she and Janine were expecting a child, that was it.
“The baby changes everything no matter what she thinks or says about Janine. Before the wedding, Linda had already let Mick go, but there is a shock and finality of Janine being the new Mrs Carter. That’s what Linda has always been, so it’s another turn of the knife.”
Linda and Shirley are taken aback when Janine unexpectedly invites them to Christmas dinner. Of course, she has another reason for doing so—she wants to keep them away from Jada, who is aware of everything she did in the summer when she falsely accused Linda of causing the collision.
Charlie continued, “Sonia and Ricky are also present, and Janine has invited Linda and Shirley in to assist them in avoiding Jada.
“Even though Janine is making every effort, she is having trouble creating a truly wonderful family Christmas. She positions Linda as far from Mick as she can. The tension in the room, however, arises from the fact that when two people are in love and they have a history, you can always feel it.”
EastEnders is playing everything very close to the vest this holiday season. So far, all that has been promised is that Mick’s departure will be “explosive” and that it will be his last day in Walford, regardless of what transpires.
