Janine Butcher from EastEnders has been amusing Linda Carter, Mick Carter’s ex, about her pregnancy. She makes the decision to hide a significant secret from her fiance, though, as she grows envious in later episodes.
Since learning she was carrying Mick’s (Danny Dyer) child, Janine (played by Charlie Brooks) has made a lot of noise about it. The landlord of the Vic, Mick, has a complicated history with EastEnders favorite Linda (Kellie Bright), and Janine is obviously consumed by jealousy despite her belief that the baby news has sealed their relationship. Future episodes of the BBC soap opera will feature scheming Janine choosing to hide something from the father of her child.
Close friend Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean), who is concerned about the repercussions of missing her probation appointment, begs Mick to intervene and tell Murray where she had been.
Nurse Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) is currently getting ready for a job interview.
When Janine learns that Mick has been seeing Linda again, she becomes upset and breaks some distressing news to him.
Later, Mick tells Sonia about this, and Sonia recognizes that Janine is lying right away.
She challenges her and makes a threat to tell Mick the truth.
Although Janine is able to stop her, Shirley Carter (Linda Henry), who is suspicious, overhears and is intrigued.
Later, Janine promises Sonia that she will eventually tell Mick. However, Mick overhears their conversation—how much does he know?
Mick asks her what she’s hiding from him, and Janine becomes terrified.
In another scene, Linda thanks Mick for standing up for Murray and they have a heartfelt exchange.
According to Sharon, Karl, the date who stood Linda up a few weeks ago, would like to see her because of a communication error.
Mick encourages his ex-wife, but an envious Janine cuts him off.
When they are alone, Shirley calls the manipulative landlady out for her lies because she can see right through her.
As Sonia calls with concern, Janine’s mood falls even lower.
When Janine is caught spying on Mick and Linda, Sonia reassures her that her fears are unfounded and puts an end to her paranoia.
While getting ready for her date with Karl, Linda confides in Mick about a worry on her mind.
The date is going well at Walford East, but when Mick and Janine arrive, everything changes.
While Karl interrogates Linda about who Mick is, Janine starts to wonder if Mick was aware that Linda was present.
Sonia keeps repeating to Janine that Mick loves her and that Linda is no longer involved as she fumes to her about the incident.
Janine is still determined to become a permanent fixture in Mick’s life as everyone gets ready for the Christmas lights party at The Vic, but she suffers a devastating setback.
What might she be hiding from Mick? She might have made up something about their unborn child in an effort to attract his attention and divert him from Linda.
Janine may be making up a problem because the couple just had their 12-week scan to make sure the pregnancy is progressing normally.
If she later learns that there has been a serious development regarding the baby, could the deceitful lie bite her?
Janine might have lost the child, but will she tell Mick?
Janine has determined that since Mick is a devout family man, the baby will likely ensure he stays here rather than returning to Linda.
She might decide not to tell Mick whatever the terrible news was based on her fabrications.
Will the truth eventually be revealed? Fans of EastEnders are aware that Mick will be leaving the show at the end of the year; could Janine’s lies be pointing toward a heartbreaking end for the adored character?
It would be typical of nasty Janine to use a series of lies to maintain her relationship, but could the results be worse than she could have foreseen?
