Fans were thrilled to see Whitney Dean from EastEnders and Zack Hudson excited about becoming parents after Whitney Dean recently learned she was expecting Zack Hudson’s child.
The EastEnders fan favorite Zack, played by James Farrar, recently dropped a bombshell on the expectant mother by telling her that he had been offered a “dream job” on a cruise ship.
The couple had been shocked to learn of the pregnancy, and although Zack admitted he wasn’t a good candidate to be a father, he was willing to make changes. However, it appears in upcoming episodes that escaping his past will be more challenging than he anticipated as a character from it appears in Walford.
On the BBC soap, Zack asks Whitney (Shona McGarty) if she’s okay with him taking the job on the cruise ship in yet-to-air scenes.
She exhorts Zack to pursue it because she thinks that is what he wants.
Later, Zack is cornered by Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams), who informs him that Whitney doesn’t want him to leave.
The popular EastEnders character gets upset at Chelsea’s pressure because he only accepted the job to support his infant.
He eventually calms down and declines the offer, though.
Whitney is overjoyed by his change of heart, but Zack’s joy is fleeting when he sees Brett, an old friend (Fabrizio Santino).
Zack is attempting to convince Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara), who is looking for new employment, to promote him to head chef at Walford East and increase his pay.
Whitney supports him, but when Zack notices Brett and becomes uneasy in his presence, everything goes horribly wrong.
At Crunch Time, Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) is interviewing Brett for a physical therapy position.
Her brother quickly advises her against hiring him. What, though, is Zack keeping secret, and could the past be repeating itself?
Later, during a heated argument, Zack tries to intimidate Brett into leaving Walford.
But Brett drops a bombshell that upends Zack’s entire world.
As Zack’s actions come back to haunt him, it appears that something from his past will be on his mind a lot.
However, his initial method of coping is complete denial.
Sharon is worried about Brett loitering around, but Zack claims he has changed.
Whitney is happy to learn that Zack was successful in persuading Ravi to give him another chance.
She worries though because he seems uninterested in the ultrasound.
Broken, Zack later visits a club to drown his sorrows and gets into an argument with Whitney while intoxicated.
In a fit of rage and fear, he keeps drinking and breaks a glass, cutting his hand.
Chelsea, on the other hand, is determined to reason with Zack because she doesn’t believe his change of heart regarding the baby.
He is sitting by himself in the kitchen of Walford East when he has an accident and starts crying once more.
Will Chelsea be able to persuade him to tell the truth?
It’s unclear what Zack is trying to hide, but it’s possible he didn’t realize he was already a father.
Perhaps the news is too much for the chef to handle because Brent knew one of Zack’s ex-girlfriends.
Whitney hopes to carry the child whether or not Zack is present, but will probably need his help.
However, it appears the soon-to-be father is already questioning his commitment to remain.
The couple’s happy ending is anticipated by viewers, who will be hoping Sharon can persuade Zack to support Whitney.
Will his family and friends back him up?
