With regard to her future without her ex-husband Mick Carter, Linda Carter has made a significant decision.
When Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) arrived home in EastEnders to find Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) behind the bar at The Vic serving a bustling crowd of Walford customers, she was unimpressed. Before revealing she was selling the venerable pub, she agreed to give the former landlord a job after realizing he was only trying to help.
After throwing everyone out of The Vic, Linda confided in Alfie.
She said: “Mick would have enjoyed it, he I loved a bit of karaoke.”
“I guess I overreacted,” she continued but Alfie interrupted: “No, Linda you’re grieving. I can’t imagine what you’re going through right now. I know we’re not together but if Kat…”
“But you know what? Walford needs her ladyship back behind the bar looking all pink and classy.”
Everyone comes here, after all, he said. “This is like a second home.
“You matter to not only me but also to everyone else who entered this room earlier and more.
You understand my viewpoint? I believe it functions both ways. I believe you also require them.
I’m glad you’re settled at the Slaters, and I can’t deny you don’t draw a crowd, Linda retorted.
“You’re right, I do need a place that feels like home, but it can’t be here. You can keep working for the next few weeks.
I realized I couldn’t have done that after witnessing what you did today. Without Mick, not right now.
“Everything just brings him to mind. Time to put The Vic up for sale.
Fans of EastEnders wasted no time in determining who could purchase the famous landmark.
The Panesars have been occupied with expanding their business empire, and it appears that The Vic may be their upcoming target.
I would love to see the #Panesars purchase the Vic, tweeted @BovaryCee. Alfie owes Phil 29,000 pounds but has no money. Additionally, I could see a newcomer entering the Vic. #EastEnders.”
@jxs606 Totally in agreement: “#EastEnders the Panesars are going to try and buy the vic!” (sic)
“Since Linda has decided to sell the pub, I predict that it will either go to the Slater’s or the Panesar’s. “#EastEnders,” tweeted @RyanTheSoapking.
No one has any money, so it’ll either be the Caesars behind the bar, possibly Fox-Trueman-Brannings OR a return, or phil but I doubt it for #EastEnders, @realseanslater continued. (sic)
However, some customers predicted that a few previous favorite owners might reopen the bar.
“We want Sharon & Linda to run the vic!!! #eastenders,” declared @janinessharon.
“I wonder if Linda will sell Kat and Alfie the Vic? “#EastEnders,” suggested @CFCJaack.
