Because of a significant clue that was revealed in the days following Dot Cotton’s funeral, EastEnders fans have speculated that there may be a bombshell return plot.
On Monday, as the square filled with people to say goodbye to the legend, Dot Cotton (played by June Brown), EastEnders residents paid their respects. A clue about the whereabouts of a beloved character who has long been thought to be dead was discovered by keen-eyed BBC viewers.
Reiss Colwell, a newcomer and Dot’s relative, is seen perusing his great aunt’s playing cards on Tuesday (Jonny Freeman).
Many fans were drawn to one in particular because it appeared to be autographed by Arthur “Fatboy” Chubb (Ricky Norwood).
“Mrs B – forever in my heart,” the greeting card read. Alexander X.
Fatboy, who was close to the stalwart, always called Dot by her endearing moniker Mrs. B.
On Christmas Eve of 2015, Fatboy was last seen in Walford, but he tragically perished after becoming embroiled in the dispute between the Mitchells and the Hubbards.
When Vincent Hubbard (Richard Blackwood) discovered Fatboy’s necklace, phone, and some blood in the trunk of a crushed car, he assumed that Fatboy had been killed.
To deceive the Walford legend into believing her friend was away from home, the sketchy character sent Dot letters bearing Fatboy’s signature.
The fact that Vincent was later killed off raises the possibility that the sweet card was created by the real Fatboy.
Could Fatboy have an unexpected comeback in Albert Square? Fans of EastEnders hope so.

Residents of Walford from the past and the present were able to connect at Dot’s funeral.
A distant tribute to Dot was seen being made by Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt).
Ian could be seen observing the ceremony from a distance as Dot’s coffin entered the church.
Dot, good-bye. He said, fighting back tears, “I’ll miss you.
Then Ian’s phone rang, and the caller could overhear him saying, “Hello, love. I’m returning home.
The funeral service then started, and he left the church.
