The BBC soap is lining up a huge deadly twist for the end of the year.
The big Christmas mystery death may have just received a major clue, and it involves Sharon Watts, according to EastEnders.
The BBC One soap opera has started its first flash-forward plot this month, implying that the women of Walford will be complicit in a sinister deed by year’s end.
Before the action moved to Christmas 2023, Sharon, Linda Carter, Stacey Slater, Denise Fox, Suki Kaur Panesar, and Kathy Beale gathered at the pub for a lock-in on February 20th, the 38th anniversary of the show.
The women were seen standing over a dead body ten months later, but the audience was not made aware of who the victim was.
Then, viewers made the connection in last night’s episode (February 21) when Eve Unwin (Heather Peace) was seen picking up a wedding gown that Stacey’s grandmother had sent over.
It appeared to be the same lace dress that Letitia Dean’s character wears in the flash-forward scene, so it wasn’t just any wedding dress.
EastEnders fans were quick to spot the moment and shared their excitement about what it could all mean on Twitter.

Following that first scene on Monday night, viewers have been full of theories, not just about who the dead body could be, but also who’s getting married to Sharon – especially considering she’s not even engaged in the present.
Phil Mitchell and Kat Slater are currently set to tie the knot after their first attempt didn’t go quite as planned, and Kat recently suggested they postpone the wedding right until Christmas, with Phil agreeing.
The timing sounds extremely suspicious: could Phil be the one to tie the knot with Sharon instead – or could he actually be the unlucky party who ends up dead on the Queen Vic floor?
