After Thursday’s episode, EastEnders fans pointed out a minor plot hole that left them perplexed.
As the Slaters adjust to Lily Slater (Lila Turner), 12, becoming pregnant, EastEnders viewers tuning in to the final episode of the week were eager to learn what would happen next. The size of the Slater family home, however, diverted and perplexed viewers of the BBC soap opera.
Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner), Jean Slater (Gillian Wright), Freddie Slater (Bobby Brazier), Lily, Arthur Fowler (Rocco Brenner), Hope Fowler (Isabelle Smith), Alfie Moon (Shane Richie), and Eve Unwin currently reside in the Albert Square house (Heather Peace).
Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman), Jean’s partner, revealed he is also moving in during Thursday’s episode, much to the delight of the family.
Harvey and Jean had a conversation earlier in the episode during which she brought up that the Panesars had raised the rent.
We’ll manage; it’s not like we haven’t been in this situation before, she said.
“I’ve got a way I could help,” Harvey replied, adding: “Well, I pay rent too, right?
“So I was thinking maybe my rent money would be better off in your pot, you know?”
Jean stared blankly at her partner as Harvey continued: “What I’m trying to say is… maybe I should move in?”
He went on: “That way you’d have more money coming in, take the pressure off a bit.
Naturally, it’s not just to assist. Jean, I adore being with you.
“And I want to stay up late with you every night. I first double-checked with Stacey, so
Jean grinned, “I only have a single bed,” to which Harvey responded, “Even better.”
When the couple later revealed their plan to the rest of the family, a delighted Stacey said, “Welcome to the family, mate!”
Fans couldn’t help but wonder how on earth the Slaters manage to live under one roof as the group raised a glass to Harvey.
Many people questioned the error on social media, with Twitter user @ktlulu1985 asking: “How many people live at the Slaters now?
How many actual bedrooms do they have? More importantly, how many bathrooms are there? #eastenders.”
Sorry, but how many bedrooms does the Slater household have? @PhilinaNatasha continued. Where is Harvey sleeping because Jean’s single bed cannot be it. #Eastenders

“#EastEnders These homes in Albert Square are what size? How many more can the Slaters fit inside?” posted by @suzysasha.
I want to know the secret of these TARDIS houses on the Square, I could make a b****y fortune!! #Eastenders, tweeted @janwilkins59.
The family update was well received by others. @sharonsstacey said, “Harvey with the Slaters is just perfect #EastEnders.”
