The former Life on Mars actor has discussed Emmerdale’s 50th anniversary plans in an open letter.
Given Dean Andrews’ emotional attachment to Emmerdale, the 50th anniversary episodes of the soap opera were given added significance.
Since 2019, Rotherham native Dean Andrews, 59, has played Will Taylor in Emmerdale. As part of an hour-long special, upcoming scenes will show viewers all the twists and turns of Will’s wedding to Kim Tate, who is portrayed by Claire King.
The hour-long soap opera special will air on Sunday, October 16, which is the 50th anniversary of the debut of Emmerdale. It will also cover the widely reported storm that hit the village.
Additionally, there is conflict that Dean’s character will experience as a result of his feelings for former flame Harriet Finch, who is portrayed by Katherine Dow Blyton. Dean has acknowledged his emotional attachment to Emmerdale.
It feels great to be a part of the 50th anniversary, he said. It’s a classic program and a significant aspect of my life. I’m extremely proud. It is amazing and slightly surreal. My parents, who are no longer with us, really enjoyed it.
Dean has provided a small hint about the wedding scenes and what we can anticipate. The wedding scenes were a lot of fun, according to Dean. In her attire, Claire looked stunning riding the horse, which is how her character Kim Tate will arrive at the service. It appeared to be amazing.
“The set was fantastic, and everything looked great,” said the design team. Claire is a great rider, so she looked awesome on the spotless horse. What more could you ask for when you add wind turbines to the mix?
