The Coronation Street actress will be making her first appearance on the ITV competition this weekend.
As the second half of the stars take to the ice this Sunday, viewers will get to see Mollie Gallagher skate for the first time. The Coronation Street actor discussed the support she has received from her soap opera co-stars in an interview with Express.co.uk.
Fans of Dancing on Ice have witnessed a number of Coronation Street actors compete throughout the program’s history.
While competing with veteran professional skater Matt Evers the previous year, soap opera legend Sally Dynevor was the sixth star to be eliminated.
Her 25-year-old acting co-star Mollie Gallagher, who is best known for playing Nina Lucas in the ITV soap opera, will be filling her skating boots for the show’s fifteenth season.
Mollie shared with thesuns.info the advice she has received thus far because many of her coworkers have already gone on the journey she is about to take.
She said: “Yeah there’s been a fair few now, they all just say it’s the best experience ever and it really is.
“Also to enjoy it, there’s no point in panicking, it’s good fun. Just do your best and it’ll all be good.”
Although she’s spending a considerable amount of time on the ice ahead of her debut, the young actress has continued to film for Coronation Street alongside her training.
Her fellow Dancing on Ice star Carley Stenson commented: “I don’t know how Mollie’s doing it, she does 12-hour days shooting and then trying to skate.”
On Sunday night, Mollie will skate alongside Darren Harriott, John Fashanu, The Vivienne, and Carley Stenson for the first time.
Even if a contestant receives a low score from the four judges, the public vote ultimately determines whether or not they advance to the following week.
Ekin-Su from Love Island will redo her routine in the skate-off after receiving the fewest votes in her group, it was revealed during the Dancing on Ice premiere weekend.
The 28-year-old received a respectable 21.5 out of 30, but it wasn’t enough to keep her from having to compete.
The reality star placed fourth on the leaderboard with her routine to the Brittney Spears song Toxic.
Former Liberty X singer Michelle Heaton and her partner Lukasz Rozycki are currently last with a total of 19.
Olympian Nile Wilson and Olivia Smart, on the other hand, received an impressive 29.5 after impressing the judges.
Stand-up comedian Darren Harriott joins Mollie on the ice for the first time, and he admits to already pestering his skating partner with suggestions for future routines.
I constantly send messages asking, “Look at this lift, look at this skate, can we do that?” to my partner, which annoys her to no end.
Then Tippy, my partner, will text me and say, “Yes, Darren, but it’s 3 AM.”
We wouldn’t participate in this show because it’s too risky if we weren’t going to give it our all.
