In advance of Tyrone and Fiz’s Christmas Day wedding, Coronation Street has released a new video looking back at the past 21 years of their relationship.
Thanks to Tyrone’s covert plans for a joyous wedding for himself and Fiz, the pair will (hopefully) be married on this year’s Christmas Day episode, even though they first shared a kiss back in 2011.
The program has determined that it’s a good idea to look back on the previous two decades in order to understand how we got to this point, 21 years after they first started dating.
To commemorate the occasion, Jennie McAlpine and Alan Halsall, the actors who play the well-known duo, sat down with Colson Smith for a YouTube-only interview.
Craig Tinker, who has been a member of the Corrie family since 2011, is portrayed by Colson. Colson invites the two to the Rovers for a drink and quizzes them about their past, present, and future.
Jennie and Alan have the chance to watch some of the key scenes from Fiz and Tyrone’s on-screen love story, from their first kiss in 2001 to last year’s holiday fight on the cobblestones, in addition to talking about the upcoming romantic Christmas wedding plan.
Plus, Colson draws on their decades of history in the ‘Brown Vs Dobbs Christmas Quiz’ to find out if the pair really are the perfect match.
Of her chat with Colson, Jennie said: “It is lovely to watch some of the early scenes, it is such a long time ago and you forget things that you filmed together.
“It is very funny looking back on some of the hair and fashion choices!”
Alan said: “I was nervous about doing the quiz as Jennie is a quiz fiend and knows so much about the show. You will have to watch to see who comes out on top.”
Tyrone recently proposed to Fiz in Roy’s Rolls, and the two have since become engaged. Tyrone’s efforts to keep the surprise a secret have left Fiz unaware that he has planned for them to wed on Christmas Day, and as a result, she is anticipating a disappointing holiday.
After learning that his fiancée was dreading organizing another ceremony—after all, it’s only been five months since her last nuptials to Phill Whittaker—Tyrone is preparing what he hopes will be the ideal surprise wedding for her (Jamie Kenna).
The three descend the stairs on Christmas morning to discover a surprise of their own thanks to the two girls, Hope (Isabella Flanagan) and Ruby (Macy Alabi), who were also involved in the plan. Fiz is nowhere to be found, deciding that Christmas will be a damp squib and being totally unaware of the plans Tyrone has made!
Will they be able to locate Fiz in time for her to make it to her own wedding?
