This week, actor Aaron Sandford’s father Eric made his first appearance in the ITV soap opera Coronation Street when he abruptly showed up to confront his son about his missing marijuana.
This week, fans of Coronation Street might recognize a familiar face on the streets because actor Craig Cheetham made an appearance in Weatherfield as Aaron Sandford’s father, Eric.
Aaron recently confided in his girlfriend Summer that his father is an alcoholic and frequently beats him, giving viewers a glimpse into Eric’s personality.
On Wednesday, October 5, Eric abruptly appeared on our screens when he arrived to confront his son about his missing marijuana.
Kevin sent Eric on his way after seeing what Eric was doing.
Later, Aaron returned home, where his father beat him once more.
But keen viewers might recognize actor Craig from a number of other appearances, including one in the competing soap opera Hollyoaks.
Craig appeared in nine episodes of Hollyoaks in 2004 as Paul. In 2007, he made a comeback to the Chester-based soap opera in the role of Noel Ashworth, Rhys Ashworth’s real father. After eight episodes Noel passed away.
Craig also made an appearance in Emmerdale from 2013 to 2014 as DS Reed, who oversaw the investigation into the Home Farm fire that Charity and Declan Macey started.
His career extends beyond soap operas, as the actor portrayed serial killer Peter Sutcliffe in This Is Personal: The Hunt for the Yorkshire Ripper, a dramatization of the actual Yorkshire Ripper investigation.
Additionally, he has made appearances in the following films: Brassic, Everything I Know About Love, Max and Paddy’s Road to Nowhere, Life on Mars, Shameless, and Heartbeat.
Additionally, in 2016, actor Craig made an appearance on Coronation Street.
He portrayed Kyle’s father and was a part of the plot in which Kyle’s friend Simon Barlow broke his leg playing football.
A diabetes support group is where fans most recently saw his new on-screen son Aaron meet Summer.
The two got closer, but Aaron broke things off when he learned Summer was battling bulimia.
They reunited after he eventually acknowledged that bulimia was a problem for him.
Later, Aaron was employed by Kevin and Tyrone’s auto repair shop.
Aaron took control of his father’s wallet earlier this week in an effort to prevent him from acquiring more booze and drugs.
Additionally, Aaron offered to consume some marijuana he discovered in the wallet on a free day, which resulted in an exciting space cake mishap with a Bishop.
We didn’t know much about Aaron’s family up until he revealed that his father had a drinking problem and had been acting violently. But Eric’s most dramatic entrance has introduced him to the audience, and he is likely to be seen as one of the most recent villains to enter the ITV soap opera.
