Viewers of Coronation Street are about to witness Stephen Reid’s rage erupt once more in an effort to keep his secrets safe.
ITV soap opera viewers have been following the serial killer Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce), who has been drugging Carla Connor (Alison King) in order to replace her at Underworld, for the past few weeks. But in scenes that will air on Coronation Street the following week, viewers might see the murderer choose his next victim in an effort to keep a secret from being revealed.
Carla’s behavior after putting LSD in her drinks alarmed her family and friends, who fear that her psychosis has returned.
Stephen has persisted in drugging his boss in an effort to make her seem unqualified for her position and force her out of the company.
Despite the fact that his plan to hold a vote of no confidence failed because Carla’s employees stuck by her, the Canadian businessman persisted in his cunning scheme to remove her.
It looked as though the Underworld boss was concerned over her unusual behaviour herself as she sees Dr Gaddas (Christine Mackie) to describe how her recent episodes have felt.
The doctor gives her a prescription for diazepam after she admits that she feels like she is high—which she actually is—in an effort to help.
In upcoming scenes, as the business gets ready for a significant meeting with an American client, Stephen decides to double her LSD dosage, which begins to work toward the end of the meeting.
After the clients have left and the employees are celebrating, Carla becomes irrational and orders them to leave the factory immediately.
Even though she goes back to work the following day, she later visits her doctor to confess that she is having trouble, and she is advised to take a long break and resume taking her antipsychotic medications.
This week, her husband Peter (Chris Gascoigne) is taken aback when he discovers Stephen relishing his position as factory manager.
He accuses the Underworld employees of stabbing Carla in the back while he is enraged with the staff.
Later, as he prepares to sign the American contract, Stephen’s plan appears to be succeeding.
All of this changes, though, when Rufus Donahue (Steve Meo) shows up and orders Stephen to destroy everything because he wants sole ownership of Nippersnapper.
Stephen grabs the hole punch in a fit of rage and walks over to Rufus.
Could Rufus be his next target after Teddy Thompkins (Grant Burgin) confronted Stephen about his missing dead son Leo (Joe Frost) and he killed his previous victim in a similar manner?
Later, Stephen makes the decision to tell his niece Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) a lie by claiming that the Americans have canceled the contract.
Peter makes the decision to tell Carla a huge secret, revealing that the factory workers have chosen Stephen to lead the company.
Could the Underworld employee’s sudden change in confidence push Carla over the edge at a time when her life is already seemingly falling apart and she faces the possibility of going to jail for running into Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) while operating her van without insurance?
Iain MacLeod, the head of Coronation Street, promised fans that Stephen will eventually be apprehended, so his reign of terror will soon come to an end.
The head of the soap said, “It’s a soap, bad guys always get their comeuppance in the end, don’t they? ” while appearing on Loose Women. So yes, 100%. Between now and then, there will be plenty of fun to be had.
ITV will continue to air Coronation Street at 8 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
