Since moving to Weatherfield, viewers of Coronation Street have witnessed the Canadian businessman mistreating the locals.
In the ITV soap opera, Todd Boyce’s character Stephen Reid has avoided being held accountable for the brutal crimes he committed over the past few weeks. However, viewers of Coronation Street will see Carla Connor (played by Alison King) expose one of his many lies in scenes that will air next week.
Since his return to Coronation Street in June 2022, Stephen has continuously lied.
It’s difficult to believe much of what he says, from trying to steal his mother Audrey Roberts’ (Sue Nicholls) money to convincing his family that he’s a successful businessman abroad.
Leo Thompkins (Joe Frost), who discovered the conman’s lies and threatened to expose them, was even murdered; Stephen later got rid of the body and made it appear as though the conman had left the country.
Leo’s father Teddy Thompkins (Grant Burgin), however, knew something wasn’t right and made it his mission to find out what it was. The murderer was sending messages from Leo’s phone to try and trick people, but Teddy knew something wasn’t right.
Teddy was about to reveal everything after concluding that Stephen was involved in Leo’s disappearance when he was hit by a van and put into a coma.
To Stephen’s delight, viewers discovered that he has lost his memories despite having since awakened.
Things change, though, when he begins to remember the knowledge he received prior to the accident and confronts Stephen at the factory.
He strikes again, hitting Teddy over the head, killing another person because he doesn’t want the truth about Leo’s murder to surface.
In scenes that will air next week, Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) tells Stephen there was a secret meeting with Michael Bailey (Ryan Russell), but she doesn’t want Carla to find out and suggests wiping CCTV footage. Stephen becomes increasingly concerned that his second murder will be revealed.
Stephen, who is horrified, realizes there will be video of Teddy’s attack and makes an effort to maintain composure as his niece explains how to remove the clips.
Later, after Carla orders him to assist Kirk Sutherland (Andrew Whyment) with packing, he is furious and runs into Dick Havisham, an old business partner.
He is humiliated beyond belief after explaining that Stephen is assisting with packing, and later makes up the lie that he is actually a senior consultant at the factory to comfort his old friend.
Carla is furious when she finds out the big lie he told and fires him, despite his attempts to spin the facts by claiming Gabrielle ripped him off and that he was only trying to save face when he ran into his old friend.
Stephen decides to rally the staff in an effort to reclaim his job and exhorts everyone to persevere until the order is finished.
Carla is still irritated by his deception, but she grudgingly admires the team’s spirit.
Carla agrees that he can keep his job and thanks him for his effort.
Looking at the backed-up CCTV footage has led thesuns.info to theorize that Carla could possibly be the next victim on Stephen’s murder list.
Stephen could go into a rage and kill Carla to prevent her from calling the police because he was unaware that there was more than one piece of evidence linking him to Teddy’s murder.
Iain McLeod, the executive producer of Coronation Street, recently stated that Stephen is a threat to everyone in Weatherfield.
He stated: “Everyone should be concerned,” he told thesuns.info and other media. I am aware that the entire cast is concerned whenever a serial killer appears in a soap opera.
