If Elaine Jones’ strategy to bring Stephen Reid down works, she may soon reveal him as the Coronation Street killer.
On Coronation Street, Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce) and Elaine Jones (Paula Wilcox) have been getting closer. On Wednesday’s episode of the ITV, she was by his hospital bedside after he had a bike accident. She revealed that she was selling her “beautiful” home, leaving viewers to wonder if she would become his next victim. Or will Elaine take advantage of the situation to eliminate him?
In the most recent episode, Stephen fell painfully from his moped and was taken to the hospital.
Elaine surprised him by entering the hospital ward and identifying herself as the person who located him following the accident and dialed 999.
Elaine, on the other hand, was quick to question the murderer about his motivation for riding a bike in Bolton in the first place.
In order to avoid further questioning, Stephen struggled to give her a straight response and pretended to have a concussion.
At his bedside, Elaine heard Stephen say, “Sorry, my head, it must be my concussion.”
A concussion? Elaine responded. Whether you have a papercut or are on your deathbed and complaining of a headache, it’s either one thing or the other for men.
“I wish you would tell your family because they would be worried about you,” I said, “not that you are on your deathbed.”
Elaine assumed that his phone had fallen out of his pocket during the collision when he asked her to help him get it.
But was it possible for her to keep the phone so she could later expose Stephen for his crimes?
Later, she informed him that she had decided to downsize her “lovely” home because she did not want to “sit on all that equity.”
Did she share this information with Stephen in an effort to entice him and see if he would bite?
Or did Elaine put herself in danger by disclosing too much personal information to the murderer?
On social media, viewers of Coronation Street expressed their worries about Stephen. Sophie tweeted: “Don’t let Stephen rob Elaine, please. Why can’t he instead take mopey Summer’s cash that she received from spooky Mike and Esther #Corrie?”
“Next victim Stephen?” Jamal wrote on Twitter after speaking with Elaine.
“Stephen is going to rob Elaine now and probably kill her #Corrie,” @RKTovery predicted.
Jehan wrote, “But now that he knows she’s got money that hope is shot to hell, for now anyhow. I thought there was a good chance that Stephen might kill nosy Elaine.”
Why was Elaine in Bolton on the exact same road as Stephen and his moped crash? Coincidence, wondered The Saturday Boy?
Pam revealed: “Oh no, Elaine is succumbing to Stephen’s nonsense faster than he could tumble off his moped. Before you become entangled in something you can’t escape from #Corrie, get a handle on yourself, woman.”
Will the Weatherfield villain kill Elaine off, or will she be the one to put him in jail as part of a cunning plan?
