After breaking his leg, Simon Gregson of Coronation Street has revealed that it will be a few months before he can walk again.
The actor who plays Steve McDonald on Coronation Street and has acknowledged being “driven mad” by an injury is Simon Gregson. He provided an update on his broken leg during an interview with Good Morning Britain, explaining that it would take months for him to recover completely.
Simon joined Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway to discuss his haunted house and Coronation Street’s 34th anniversary.
The hosts were curious to learn how he was doing after breaking his leg, though.
It hurts, all the time, Simon said. It’s making me crazy.
“I believe that it will just take some time before it gets better completely,” the speaker said.
Kate asked: “So you’re out of plaster, you can move about a little bit, you’re obviously sitting down but what a problem for you.”
“I know yeah it’s been driving me mad,” Simon replied.
“I can’t do the things I usually do but you know, as I said, maybe in a few more months I’ll be back to A1 condition.”
Simon went on to share details of the first time he saw a ghost in his home.
The actor explained: “Friday nights are my nights and Saturday nights are Emma’s nights.
“So on the Friday night, I’d gone out and on the Saturday night, Emma had gone out and I rang Emma, it was about half one in the morning and I said, ‘Oh have you come home early?’
“Emma likes to party and I was like, it’s half one this is early.
“And I said, ‘Have you just walked across the landing?’
“And she went, ‘No, I haven’t but have you just seen a woman in white? I saw her last night.’
“So I promptly closed the bedroom door and wedged it shut.
“We didn’t see her for quite a long time after that, not Emma, the ghost.”
Ben cut in: “Can we just clarify Simon, you wedged it shut but ghosts go through walls don’t they?”
“I know but this is the stupid thing, when Emma the boys used to go awayI used to sleep with a rounder’s bat,” Simon added.
“Like what is that going to do?”
