Since Julia Goulding, who plays Shona Platt on Coronation Street, recently gave birth to her second child, Shona Platt will be leaving Weatherfield in upcoming scenes.
Julia Goulding from Coronation Street recently gave birth to a daughter with her partner Ben and has been on maternity leave for the past few weeks. As Stephen Reid (played by Todd Boyce) continues his schemes, her exit from the soap opera is imminent and has fans worried for her future.
Stephen has been planning for the past year to steal all of his mother’s money, run away, and leave the family with nothing.
Leo Thompkins (Joe Frost), who started to wonder what Stephen was up to, ended up becoming Stephen’s first victim, and things quickly got worse.
Along with dealing with their son Max Turner’s (Paddy Beaver) decision to start down a dark path, Shona and David Platt (Jack P. Shephard) have also been dealing with Max.
In upcoming scenes, Shona will leave the soap opera, and fans are concerned that Stephen may be involved.
Shona was shot and put into a coma for the duration of Julia’s leave in 2020 while she was on maternity leave for the birth of her first child.
Shona eventually left the streets for treatment before coming back later to live with David and their kids.
The family’s experience this time may not be as horrific, though, as Jack P. Shephard revealed Shona will leave Weatherfield in a “routine” manner.
When asked if Shona would be Stephen’s next victim exclusively to Express.co.uk and other media, Jack responded, “No no no she’s not, it’s not dramatic at all.
“I can tell you that she leaves to take care of Lily Platt (Brooke Malonie) in London while she is participating in a football tournament.
“She says, “I’ll help, I’ll do that in London for six weeks,” as she prepares to take maternity leave.
“What are we going to do since the last time she took maternity leave, she was shot and suffered brain damage? Are we going to repeat that?
“So no, it will just be routine; she leaves and returns,” she said.
Julia announced the birth of her daughter on Instagram, writing: “On Saturday our little girl arrived.
Franklin is smitten with his younger sister Emmeline Beanie Silver, and we are overjoyed. She is flawless.
Her co-stars congratulated the couple right away on the birth of their daughter, with Charlie De Melo writing: “So so pleased. Thank you!
The most amazing news, Paddy Beaver continued, was followed by a love heart emoji.
Congratulations, how great, said Alexandra Mardell.
Julia announced her second pregnancy in June 2022 while showing off her growing baby bump on the red carpet at the British Soap Awards.
Franklin Wolf Silver, the couple’s first child, was born to her and her husband Ben in 2019.
