Coronation Street viewers are set to see Sarah Platt play with fire as she gets flirty with bad boy Damon Hay.
After being arrested for drug dealing, evil Damon Hay (played by (Ciaran Griffiths) is set to make his return to Weatherfield in upcoming scenes. However, Coronation Street viewers will see him catch the eye of Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) who could be about to embark on an unexpected affair.
Since Damon’s first appearance on the cobblestones, there has only been drama and uproar because he specifically targeted Nick Tisley (Ben Price) to smuggle drugs through the Bistro.
He not only drove his son Jacob (Jack James Ryan) out of town, but he also endangered Nick’s son Sam (Jude Riordan) when thugs barged in with weapons.
At his wits’ end, Nick dialed the police, who then detained Damon for his crimes; however, his detention was brief because he is now returning to Weatherfield.
In the scenes that will air the following week, Nick is horrified to see the criminal seated at his desk when Damon decides to pay him a visit at the Bistro.
He boasts that his brother-in-law Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson), who is a solicitor, is his representative, reminding Nick that he still has a financial stake in the company.
Nick is furious at Adam for agreeing to act on his enemy’s behalf, and Sarah is forced to get involved as a result of Nick’s anger at Adam’s lack of family loyalty.
Sarah announces she is heading to the hotel he had reserved for their date night alone because she is horrified her husband is siding with her brother.
Unaware of who she is speaking to, she settles in at the hotel bar next to Damon.
As the alcohol starts to take effect, Sarah admits to the pair that she and her husband had a disagreement.
She decides to invite him to her room for a drink when they start acting flirtatious.
She later discovers with dismay that Adam’s decision to continue representing Damon is unaffected by her solo trip.
When they later cross paths in the ginnel, Sarah begs Damon to keep away from her brother and requests that he fire Adam as his solicitor.
But when Damon won’t make any promises, Sarah has no idea what she’s in for.
When Damon speaks with lawyer Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown), she informs him that he is not likely to be granted freedom.
She explains that whoever decided to fix him up did so with knowledge.
He approaches Nick in anger and closes the door on him as he corners him in the office of the Bistro.
Will Damon, who has a violent past, use Nick as a target for his rage? Or will he change his mind after making a chance connection with Sarah?
Actress Tina O’Brien said of the upcoming plot and the possibility of an affair with Sarah and Damon: “I think once she gets him up there, reality kicks in and she realizes this is a bad idea.
The question then becomes whether she will leave the situation before further harm is done.
