As Harvey Gaskell makes a shocking admission, Coronation Street couple Nick Tilsley might be about to make a decision that will change his family’s life.
Sam Blackman, a young character on Coronation Street, has been pleading with his father Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) and Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) to go see Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor) in jail. Before he was caught and told the truth, the youngster spent months sending letters to the man who killed his mother. Now that he is finally going to get what he wants, the question is how far Nick will go to protect his family when Harvey makes a startling admission.
In upcoming scenes, Leanne urges Nick to tell Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) that they are devastated and unable to afford to purchase the bistro.
Nick and Leanne accompany Sam to the prison where they have their first meeting with Harvey after months of pleading and covert letters.
Harvey hands Nick a piece of paper during the meeting and informs him that he has some money that he can use to purchase the bistro.
Nick is in a state of shock, but will he accept the payment for the Bistro? Or can he put enough faith in Harvey to know the money is genuine?
Debbie approaches Nick and Leanne later and informs them that she has made the decision to accept their initial bid for the bistro.
As Nick and Leanne rejoice over the agreement, Lynne’s builder explains that the location is rife with dry rot, which is why she pulled out.
Leanne confronts Debbie in the Rovers and lunges at her in a fit of rage over the fact that they weren’t informed and left to handle the situation.
Will Nick accept the offer when Harvey calls him from jail to let him know it is still valid?
After receiving a quote from Ed Bailey (Trevor Michael Georges) for £20,000 to repair the dry rot, Nick advises Leanne that they need to ask Sam if they can use the funds Sam inherited from Natasha Blakeman (Rachel Leskovac).
But when Sam tells them he’s going to use the money his mother left him to pay for his university expenses, their scheme falls apart.
Nick tells Leanne a lie about talking to Natasha’s sister, Melissa, and finding out that she is okay with them using his inheritance.
She asserts that she has signed the necessary paperwork and the funds should be deposited into their account within a few hours, but is this really the case?
Has Leanne used the money that Harvey was willing to give them behind Nick’s back?
According to additional official spoilers, Sam questions Harvey during their encounter until the latter finally caves and confesses he intended to kill Leanne before revealing his mother passed away when he was 14 years old.
Sam offers up that the trauma Harvey experienced caused him to go off the rails and starts to ask some awkward questions with his mature mind.
Harvey is obviously upset by Sam’s visit in his cell, so he picks up his most recent letter and begins to read Sam’s inquiries.
The following day, Nick receives a call from Karis requesting that Sam pay Harvey another visit the following day.
Could Harvey, one of the cobbles’ most ruthless villains, have plans to harm Nick, Leanne, and their family?
Is it time for Nick to start worrying about what Harvey might do to his family?
