Coronation Street stalwart Leanne Battersby may have to make a heartbreaking decision after she discovers what Nick Tilsley has been hiding from her.
On Coronation Street last year, Jacob Hay (Jack James Ryan) made Leanne Battersby’s (Jane Danson) life miserable. He broke into her house and introduced her son Simon Barlow (Alex Bain) to Weatherfield drug dealing. ITV soap spoilers have revealed that Jacob and Simon have put their differences behind them, but if Leanne finds out Nick Tilsley’s (Ben Price) secret, that will be the least of her worries.
Jacob has made an effort to apologize to Leanne for his past transgressions since joining the ITV soap.
Even though Jacob has won the hearts of many residents, Leanne doesn’t seem willing to forget or forgive him for how he treated her when she was mourning the loss of her son Oliver.
Leanne will experience more pressure in subsequent scenes as she and Nick begin to worry about their financial situation.
They are even more alarmed when Simon tells them he has lost his job.
Fortunately, Simon is later hired by Carla Connor (Alison King) to join the Underworld sales team.
However, the fact that he will be working alongside Jacob does not impress his mother Leanne.
Simon and Jacob witness a van theft when Simon begins his new job at the factory.
In order to catch the thief, the two drop what they are doing and run over to them.
Leanne is hurt to see the two being so cordial to one another as they bask in their success.
A man named Damon, who claims to be just passing through the area to say hello, compliments Jacob in the meantime.
Jacob bitterly sends Damon off, appearing uneasy about his appearance.
Could Damon be part of a drug dealing gang which Jacob used to be part of?
Maybe Nick is connected to Damon as well?
Nick reveals that the Bistro’s repair costs are out of control in later scenes.
Leanne sighs and acknowledges that she will need to consult Sam Blakeman.
Is Nick telling the truth to his partner, or does he owe money to Damon for drugs?
Nick hides his regret for tricking Leanne when she was blissfully uninformed.
Maybe Leanne will find out what Nick has been keeping from her in due time.
If he is involved in any criminal activity, she will have to choose whether to end their relationship or continue it.
