In upcoming scenes, Coronation Street legend Ken Barlow must make a crucial choice as Martha Fraser delivers news that will change his life.
Since 1960, William Roache’s character on Coronation Street, Ken Barlow, has lived in Weatherfield and has witnessed a lot of drama. Recently, he became embroiled in a romantic triangle with his former girlfriend Wendy Crozier (Roberta Kerr) and another ex-girlfriend Martha Fraser (Stephanie Beacham). According to confirmed spoilers, Ken will have to make a significant choice in the upcoming weeks that could affect his future on the soap opera.
When Martha suggests that Ken should move to Hull with her, Ken is shocked and unsure of whether to listen to his heart or his head.
Will he choose to abandon his home and family in order to rekindle his romance with Martha?
When Nigel says the play will not go on because the theater is flooded, Ken takes over the bistro and says the performance must go on.
Then, when one of the leads breaks a leg, Martha steps up to the plate and offers to step in.
Wendy is introduced by Martha, who apologizes for stealing Ken from her.
When Wendy admits that it wasn’t the case and that she was the one who ended things, Martha is forced to reconsider her plans to marry Ken.
Mary refuses to read the play review Brian tries to show her because she thinks the entire production was a failure.
Will Ken choose to start over somewhere new with Martha? Or will he resist and defend his bond with Wendy?
In a recent interview with The Mirror, actor Bill Roache discussed Martha’s comeback and said: “When I found out that Martha was also going to make a return, I was thrilled.
But now that Ken has become involved in another love triangle, I worry that heartache may be on the horizon for him once more.
The conclusion of the Ken love triangle was also alluded to by Stephanie Beacham and Roberta Kerr as they discussed the various romantic inclinations of their characters.
Over the years, Martha has excited Ken, and Roberta has acknowledged that Wendy seems like a “small fry compared to Martha.”
“It only takes a blast from the past for you to want to shake things up,” she continued.
She did note, however, that Wendy is more likely to stick by Ken in the long run, so Martha’s ability to get Ken’s attention might not last for long.
Will Ken follow his heart or his head when it comes to the two women? He has a big decision to make.
