Next week, Sam Blakeman, a young resident of Coronation Street, will finally meet the man who murdered his mother, Harvey Gaskell.
Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan), Natasha’s son, has been writing to Harvey (Will Mellor), who killed her last year, from inside of a prison. The young man has been curious to learn more about the man’s motivations for killing his mother. The two are about to finally meet in the scenes that will air the following week, during which Sam will question Harvey about his behavior.
Sam, Natasha’s son, has been wishing to learn more about the Harvey while his mother Leanne (Jane Danson) has been in prison for the murder of Natasha for a year.
The young man has written him up to four letters per week while trying to deal with the loss of his mother and has expressed a desire to meet him in person.
Sam was determined to visit Harvey despite his father Nick Tilsley’s (Ben Price) initial opposition, so they got in touch with a facilitator to find out if it would be okay.
It appears that Sam’s persistence is about to pay off in scenes that will air the following week as he finally meets Harvey.
After meeting the facilitator, Karis, Sam and Nick enter the prison. The young man has the opportunity to speak with the murderer in the visiting room and begins questioning him.
Harvey speaks about his own past before admitting that he had intended to kill Leanne.
Sam assumes that this must be the reason he went off the deep end after he confides in the youngster that his own mother passed away when he was 14 years old.
Before Harvey leaves the room, Sam begins to interject with some awkward questions about Natasha during their conversation.
Later, in his cell, the inmate picks up Sam’s most recent letter and begins to read the questions he has, obviously shaken by the child’s visit.
Leanne makes every effort to thwart the sale while Debbie shows potential buyer Lynne around the bistro in another part of the village.
Debbie then informs Nick and Leanne that she will ultimately force the sale of the entire bistro after learning about Leanne’s game.
Nick receives a call from Karis after the prison visit informing him that Harvey wants Sam to visit him in jail once more.
According to a theory put forth by thesuns.info, after meeting Sam in person, Harvey is transported back to the time when he lost his mother when he was a similar age.
Harvey might be feeling some remorse as he agrees to answer his questions after realizing that he caused another child to lose their mother.
Harvey could finally agree to sit down and give Sam the answers he’s been waiting for for the past year if Sam brought the letters to the visit.
Will Mellor, who joined the cast a year ago, spoke to Radio Times about his choice to play the soap opera.
You don’t turn down Corrie, he claimed, so I’ll do it if the phone rings.
“It’s a building. I jumped at the chance as it was an honor to be asked.
“My mother is so happy. She is telling all of her friends that I have been acting for 32 years and that she has been waiting for me to do Corrie.
