Fiz Stape and Tyrone Dobbs of Coronation Street wed last Christmas after an 11-year romantic relationship.
Tyrone (Alan Halsall) and Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) have had some intriguing relationships over the years, but they always seem to get back together. Following their Christmas wedding, the couple appeared to be permanently back on track. Official spoilers, however, indicate that the couple is starting to revert to their “stale” habits once more, which prompted Tyrone to cheat previously. Will sex counseling help them get back on the right track?
Fiz confides in Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor) in upcoming scenes that her sex life is in a bit of a rut.
Sally informs Fiz that they enjoy role-playing and invites her to look through their fancy dress box because she knows how she feels after going through a similar experience with Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine).
Fiz, who is intrigued by the suggestion, departs and informs Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) that she will be spending the night with her mother.
Tyrone’s failure to kiss his wife goodbye worries Evelyn, who has been observing Fiz and Tyrone’s interactions.
Later, Tyrone is seen getting into a car while wearing a suit and boots, and Evelyn is convinced he is about to start another affair.
She commands Roy Cropper (David Nielson) to start the car because she is anxious to prevent her grandson from repeating the same error.
They closely observe as a blonde woman sits down next to Tyrone in a hotel bar and he intimately squeezes her thigh. They follow Tyrone to the establishment.
Evelyn is horrified, but should she confront Tyrone there or wait until he gets home?
Has Tyrone already broken his promise to Fiz, or did Evelyn misjudge the circumstances?
Iain McLeod, the head of Coronation Street, mentioned the couple’s awkward interaction and said he “loved” the plot.
He stated to Express.co.uk “Fiz and Tyrone have a vague feeling that they may be regressing into the same staleness that got Tyrone lost the last time.
“They therefore made the decision to make their relationship more romantic, but when they follow Sally’s advice, everything goes horribly wrong and is extremely embarrassing.
“Sally and Tim’s dressing up box features, but it’s really, really funny, and once again, we have Evelyn in the middle of that, and you know, she’s funny all the time.
“It’s a really, really funny family and there are a lot of different tones in there.”
Tim had a triple heart bypass last year, which required him to avoid physically demanding activities.
The couple was eager for Tim to receive a clean medical report and was counting down the minutes until they could start having sex again.
Quickly getting down to business, the couple had the audience in stitches as Sally descended the stairs while dressed as a nurse.
“The Tim and Sally sex scenes are making me laugh,” said @NiickBoii.
