The true motivations of Coronation Street couple Esther and Mike Hargrave toward Summer Spellman may soon come to light.
Coronation Street youngster Summer Spellman (played by Harriet Bibby) recently suffered a miscarriage and is yet to tell Esther (Vanessa Hehir) and Mike Hargrave (Tom Lorcan) (Tom Lorcan). Since she is no longer able to give the couple a baby, Summer is concerned that they will ask for the £10,000 money back. The couple will present Summer with an alternative strategy in upcoming scenes, but Daniel Brocklebank, who plays Summer’s adoptive father Billy Mayhew, has acknowledged that something more sinister is in store.
The Weatherfield Precinct, the newest outdoor set for the ITV soap, was recently opened by the cast of the show, and producer Iain McLeod promised drama would undoubtedly take place there.
Daniel told Express.co.uk that he was anticipating the set and felt: “It’s interesting and always welcome to see Weatherfield grow.
“We have a fantastic opportunity to play in new locations!”
When questioned about what lies ahead for Mike, Esther, and Summer, the celebrity revealed: “They have a slightly sinister air to them.
“And seeing them on screen because many of their scenes happened without me makes it interesting to watch what happens from a distance.
But before the plot is resolved, there will be plenty of surprises.
The “maturity” Harriet brings to her character, who is a few years younger than she is in real life, was another thing Daniel praised about his co-star.
He cried out: “We have a really lovely off-screen friendship, Harriet is amazing, and I adore her. She has been able to add an older perspective to the story.
Because she has had a terrible year, there is maturity in her performance, which I believe has been needed during this.
The summer’s biggest star Harriet hinted at what the young person’s involvement with Esther and Mike would entail, adding: “This story, in my opinion, has many unexpected turns.
“She has undoubtedly had a difficult year, and I don’t believe she is handling everything that is happening very well.
We’ll see what happens, but I think she’s in for a bit of a ride with Esther and Mike. She does, however, have the support of Billy, Aaron, and her other dads.
According to official spoilers, in upcoming scenes Mike and Esther are adamant about taking Summer to the hospital for her scan, but they decide to wait outside instead.
While trying to pass the time in the hospital, Summer and Aaron Sandford (James Craven) are abruptly confronted by Mike, who forces them to tell him the truth.
She later discloses to Billy, Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce), and Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) that she and Aaron intend to travel, but that they will need £10,000 to do so.
The three, however, are able to see right through her and start to doubt her strategy. Will Summer eventually tell the truth?
In a different scene, Mike and Esther make Summer a new offer that includes forgiving her debt to them—but only if she agrees to proceed with their surrogacy process.
Billy listens to Summer’s concerns, but things change when he tries to enforce the law and Mike intervenes, pointing out that it is her decision, not his.
Will Billy alienate Summer even further despite his threats to involve the police in order to keep her safe?
