Eileen Grimshaw, a resident of Coronation Street, will be moved by the efforts George Shuttleworth made for her this Christmas.
Last Christmas, Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver) was horrified to learn that her partner had surprised her with a funeral plan.
It wasn’t exactly the holiday treat she had hoped for, but this year George (Tony Maudsley) tries his hardest to win over the beloved Coronation Street character. To surprise Eileen, he makes a lot of effort, but will it be worthwhile?
According to soap opera spoilers for Coronation Street, Glenda (Jodie Prenger), Sean (Antony Cotton), and Mary (Patti Clare) question George about what gift he has for Eileen in the wake of the funeral plan fiasco last Christmas.
George tries to squash Laurence’s offer to assist Eileen in finding a new sofa.
He explains that as a surprise Christmas gift for Eileen, he bought her a new sofa.
In order to upgrade Eileen’s home, George enlists their assistance in getting rid of the outdated one.
Glenda reveals she can no longer go carol singing while assisting George, leaving Mary in a bind.
She calls on Brian Packham (Peter Gunn), who is delighted to participate in the carol service.
Although Brian will be seen gazing affectionately at Mary, Mary is still unaware of his feelings for her.
George prohibits Eileen from going home while he continues to work on finding a solution for her Christmas present.
She is perplexed by his instructions, but George insists that he is giving them to protect her Christmas surprise while he waits for it to be delivered.
Hearing how much trouble George has gone through impresses Eileen.
Will she still be impressed, though, when she finds out he bought her a new sofa rather than something more sentimental?
Spider Nugent (Martin Hancock) will be brutally attacked in the New Year by Griff and his friends elsewhere on the street.
For the past few months, Spider has been posing as an undercover police officer in an effort to reveal Griff to be an extremist.
Griff instructed Spider to meet at his apartment, so it appears as though he may have been exposed.
Griff intentionally misleads Spider about his plans for Weatherfield and questions his loyalty.
Spider rushes to see the child after receiving an urgent text from Max Turner.
Griff, who is brandishing a crowbar, confronts him and knocks him out instantly.
Just as Griff is getting ready to do something big, Spider is left fighting for his life and taken out of action.
Will Spider succeed in identifying the extremist before it is too late?
