Jack P. Shephard, who plays Stephen Reid on Coronation Street, has spoken candidly about Stephen Reid’s future and hinted at his demise.
Stephen Reid, the newest villain on Coronation Street (played by Todd Boyce), has been terrorizing his family right in front of them without raising even the slightest suspicion. Stephen started to put together a scheme to steal all of Audrey Roberts’ (Sue Nicholls) money after getting back from Milan, but after killing Leo Thompkins (Joe Frost), he went into a tailspin. Official spoilers hinted that Stephen goes to great lengths to carry on his rant, but David Platt actor Jack P. Shephard hinted that his family may put an end to it all.
When it comes to his motivation for returning from Milan, Stephen’s motives are unknown to the Platt family.
He has so far avoided detection and is working on a new scheme, but could his time as a criminal soon come to an end?
Jack clarified, exclusively to Express.co.uk and other media, that the Platt family is unaware of Stephen’s activities as follows: “We don’t, and we want it that way because we don’t want to pass away.
“We don’t know anything about it until he is arrested, at which point we exclaim, “Stephen we never knew!” Everyone else can find out, and they wind up in the trash, but not us.
“For us, that would be perfect. We don’t want Audrey to suffer harm, so we might have to intervene if he does. If Audrey is crossed in any way, you cross all Platts.”
Stephen started to convince the family in recent scenes that Audrey is drinking “heavily” once more.
Stephen set out to show that Audrey couldn’t be trusted by stealing her antidepressants in order to persuade Nick Tilsley (Ben Price), who wasn’t persuaded by the lies.
He wanted Audrey to get drunk and possibly overdose so that it would be obvious she couldn’t be trusted.
Could the Platt family draw a connection and uncover Stephen’s criminal past if he goes too far and hurts or kills Audrey?
Additionally, Jack talked about Shona Platt’s (Julia Goulding) departure from the show after viewers feared she would become Stephen’s newest victim.
After giving birth to a daughter, Julia and Ben’s second child, recently started their maternity leave.
In upcoming scenes, she is expected to leave the soap, as Jack explained: “It’s not dramatic at all. I can tell you that she leaves to look after Brooke Malonie’s character Lily Platt in London while she is participating in a football-soccer tournament.
“She says, “I’ll help, I’ll do that in London for six weeks while she goes off on maternity leave,” when she realizes she needs a chaperone.
“What are we going to do since the last time she took maternity leave, she was shot and suffered brain damage? Are we going to repeat that?
“So no, it will just be routine; she leaves and returns,” she said.
Julia announced the birth of her daughter on Instagram, writing: “On Saturday our little girl arrived.
“Franklin is smitten with his younger sister Emmeline Beanie Silver, and we are overjoyed. She is flawless.” (sic)
Julia announced her second pregnancy in June 2022 while showing off her growing baby bump on the red carpet at the British Soap Awards.
Franklin Wolf Silver, the couple’s first child, was born to her and her husband Ben in 2019.
