The most recent storyline on Coronation Street has viewers terrified for Daisy Midgeley as relentless stalker Justin Rutherford escalates his unsettling behavior.
In the episode that aired on Friday, Daisy (Charlotte Jordan) experienced yet another terrible day because Justin (Andrew Still) kept appearing wherever she went. However, she began to feel a little better about the terrifying situation once one of the police officers began to take her seriously. Justin followed her down the street in the Coronation Street episode, posing yet another threat. ITV soap opera viewers appear to believe that Daisy’s fiancé Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) will take action against Justin and may even turn violent.
Daisy thought she had finally gotten through to Justin when telling him he means nothing to her after he got her arrested.
After showing up at the pub after getting Daisy arrested, she decided to hear him out.
“I hate what happened earlier, okay?” he told her, to which Daisy replied: “Yeah, that makes two of us.”
Justin added: “I should never have called the police. I wasn’t in a good place.”
“Now we have to make it right.” he said as a shocked Daisy replied: “We? There’s that word again.”
“I’m willing to give you another chance, Daisy,” he continued.
“Come on, time’s up,” Daniel commented as Daisy asked Justin: “Are you serious?”
She went on: “I knew you were deluded but this is just a whole new level.
“Go away Justin, you’re nothing to me and you never will be.”
It appeared that Daisy had finally reached Justin before he left.
Daisy was walking home alone when Justin decided not to give up so easily and once more terrified her.
Justin assured her, “I know you only said what you said because he was there.
Daisy screamed at Justin in terror, but he only started to menacingly approach her before some bystanders stepped in to stop him.
Fans speculated about what might occur in the Justin plot on social media.
“I can see Daniel killing Justin the stalker #Corrie,” tweeted @DJWMarathonMan.
Added by @LunaLocoJewels: “Why doesn’t Daniel just offer to show Justin Weatherfield’s finest spiral staircases given how frequently he has gotten away with pushing people downstairs? It’s not anyone’s fault if someone makes a mistake on #Corrie.”
There is, in my opinion, an interesting case developing involving Daisy, her stalker, and Daniel, as @albags 2002 foresaw.
@Mrs SimonCowell tweeted, “If Daniel was a proper Mancunian Man, he’d have knocked Justin into next week before he uttered a word #Corrie.”
Others, however, were worried about Daniel himself in light of Justin’s troubling behavior.
Wee Westie 29 wrote: “If Justin tries to kidnap Daisy or Daniel on the wedding day, I won’t be shocked. @itvcorrie #Corrie #CoronationStreet”
@Rozzy67 also said: “#Corrie Daniel’s life might now be in danger, so I wonder how far Justin will go to be with Daisy.”
Others hope for a positive outcome for the couple, with @MaryOxborough sharing: “Hoping Justin realises he has no hope with beautiful Daisy so we never see him again. Daisy gets married to Daniel – we see a fabulous wedding with lots of laughs. Not forgetting more Peter and Carla #corrie.”
