She wants to be a proper family.
In tonight’s (October 26) episode of Coronation Street, Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) expressed her commitment to Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) and his young son Bertie.
Daisy was considering moving in with Daniel at the start of the week at his suggestion, but she was alarmed when he reacted angrily to her plans to make changes to the apartment. Daisy questioned why Daniel hadn’t told her when Daniel’s nephew Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) informed her that the anniversary of Sinead’s passing was approaching.
Daisy understood that Sinead will always be Bertie’s mother, and Daniel explained that he hadn’t meant to make her feel left out. Daisy showed up with flowers as the sad occasion approached, unsure of the proper protocol. After spending some time with Bertie, Daniel said he would like to spend the rest of the day with her.
Daisy and Bertie engaged in some playful interaction while Daisy adjusted Bertie’s shirt, which she claimed Daniel had uncoolly tucked in, after Daniel left the room. Bertie answered by saying, “Thank you, Mummy,” to Daisy who was shocked but decided not to tell her boyfriend.
At Victoria Gardens, before Sinead’s aunt Beth Sutherland (Lisa George) arrived to pick up Bertie, Daniel talked to their son about his memories of Sinead. Meanwhile, Daisy was concerned about what had occurred at the Rovers.
There was shock all around when Bertie called Daisy “Mummy” once more after Beth dropped him off at the apartment and Daisy brought him a drink.
Beth was upset and irate because Daisy had to acknowledge that this had already happened once. She believed that Daisy had planned the incident on today of all days. Daniel was curious as to Daisy’s silence, and Daisy was quick to defend herself.
However, as Beth stormed out, he told Daisy that he didn’t actually mind if Bertie thought of her in this way; however, Daisy was afraid and questioned whether playing the mother would only confuse Bertie. In order to get some fresh air, she went outside, where she ended up confiding in Jenny (Sally Ann Matthews), who remarked that as Daisy’s stepmother, she had gone through a similar transition.
When Daisy returned to the apartment, Beth had reconciled with Daniel and even extended an apology to Daisy. Jenny had urged Daisy to consider how much she cared for Daniel and Bertie. Daisy then apologized for eloping to Daniel.
Daniel was ecstatic when she said she was fully committed to being a family. Will the rest be easy sailing?
