Popular Coronation Street couple Beth Tinker (played by Lisa George) and Kirk Sutherland (Andrew Whyment) have seemed like star crossed lovers since they met so their recent tensions appear to have come out of nowhere. After a tumultuous couple of weeks which has seen beloved Coronation Street couple Beth Tinker and Kirk Sutherland separate, viewers will see the bubbly machinist reconnect with an ex. Their issues started when Beth hit Hope Stape, a 12-year-old (Isabella Flanagan), and then lied about it.
After the young girl falsely claimed that Beth’s dog Peanut had bitten her, the Underworld machinist spanked her.
Beth lied about her actions and bought Hope’s silence about what actually occurred after realizing she was in deep trouble.
Having defended Beth, Kirk was unable to look at her the same way after the truth was revealed.
Prior to being persuaded to get back together by his sister Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon), he had intended to leave her.
Viewers witnessed Beth’s attempt to reconcile with her husband last week.
She made an effort to persuade him that, at her core, she was still a decent person who had erred.
She showed him mementos from their time together in an additional effort to convince him that their relationship was still worth saving.
The two were on the verge of getting back together in the Rovers when Kirk discovered a handwritten letter that a man named Marco had left for Beth.
While she insisted it was nothing, viewers have caught her praising Marco.
In spite of her assurances to Kirk, she didn’t destroy the letter.
Later, Beth reconnected with him after Glenda Shuttleworth (Jodie Prenger) discovered him on social media.
The mysterious character will finally be revealed to viewers of the show on Monday night as he approaches on the cobblestones.
Marco will be portrayed by special guest star Paul Albertson, who has previously appeared in Sherlock and Extras.
In an effort to impress her ex-boyfriend, Beth arrives at the Bistro dressed to kill.
Even though she brings Glenda along for moral support, it quickly becomes apparent that she is unnecessary.
The Rovers bartender realizes she is a third wheel and disappears, leaving the ex-couple to catch up.
As he recalls the time he proposed to Fiz in nostalgic scenes, Kirk is also forging a new relationship with an ex.
Although Fiz and Tyrone (Alan Halsall) are now married, Fiz dated Kirk for a while before he proposed to her in 2007.
Is there a way for Beth and Kirk to get back together now that both of them are restless?
