Fiz Stape and Tyrone Dobbs of Coronation Street have been in an on-again, off-again relationship for the past 21 years.
For the past 21 years, Alan Halsall has played Tyrone Dobbs and Jennie McAlpine has played Fiz Stape on the ITV series Coronation Street.
The famous couple has experienced ups and downs, but this Christmas they will wed for good. Alan recently discussed his relationship with Jenny in-depth and admitted he had kissed Jenny more often than anyone else.
After recently reentering each other’s romantic lives, Fiz and Tyrone recently got engaged.
Tyrone realized that Fiz was the one he was meant to be with, so he made the decision to propose to her while driving in Roy’s Rolls-Royce without a ring.
Naturally, Fiz said yes, and the couple was eager to begin this new chapter with their kids Hope Stape (Isabelle Flanagan) and Ruby Dobbs (Macy Alabi).
Jenny recently talked about Alan and their storyline, saying it was the new beginning the couple needed.
She stated to press outlets like Express.co.uk: “Yes. I believe the new beginning is encouraging. My god, this is a nice fresh start after everything we have been through.”
Jenny responded when asked if they were surprised that a wedding had never taken place before: “No.
We may be close to some kind of stability in life because we live in Weatherfield, but every time we get there, with our family in that house, something goes wrong, doesn’t it?
Alan also said “It was fascinating. We recently conducted an interview where we got to see our very first kiss, which occurred 21 years ago.
“So yeah, it’s crazy, but I’ve probably been kissing Jenny longer than I have anyone else in my life.
“I believe that they have come so, so close so many times as a couple, but at least this time they succeed.”
Additionally, Alan revealed why Tyrone believed that planning a surprise wedding now was the best time to do so. He said: “I think the thing is, Tyrone doesn’t think a great deal anyway.
“So naturally, you know, after all the things he’s been through and the time it took for him to realize, he’s got everything back that he wants.
“But he now realizes what he wants; he wants Fiz, he loves Fiz, and he wants his family unit that he’s never had to happen quickly.”
Fiz will be seen in later scenes being ecstatic that her family has finally reunited in time for Christmas.
When they exchange presents, Tyrone appears to be trying his best to ruin the occasion, which makes Fiz feel disappointed.
She makes one last attempt to make the day special and goes off to find a turkey after Tyrone suggests a takeaway, unaware that he actually has a surprise wedding planned for her.
As she drives off, the car unexpectedly breaks down in the middle of nowhere, and she realizes she is stranded without her phone.
As Tyrone, Hope, and Ruby rush downstairs in anticipation of the surprise, they discover a note from Fiz and her phone on the table.
Tyrone, who is perplexed as to how she got here, deduces with regret that perhaps their enchanted wedding won’t take place after all.
Is Fiz in peril? Will she return in time for her special day, or not?
