In tonight’s Coronation Street episode (Thursday, October 13 2022), Billy welcomed Summer back home and introduced her to Mike and Esther.
He clarified that Esther will be assisting at the upcoming clothing exchange at the community center.
Esther accepted Summer’s help with the clothing exchange.
Billy revealed to Summer that he had been counseling the couple during a trying time after Mike and Esther had left.
But it appears that Esther will have a significant role in a future plot.
In Coronation Street, who plays Esther?
Vanessa Hehir, an actress, portrays Esther.
Vanessa is also a successful filmmaker and screenwriter.
She is a native of Manchester and was born in 1981.
Leon Ockenden is an actor who is married to Vanessa.
The couple got hitched in 2010, and they both made an appearance in Waterloo Road together in 2014.
One daughter was born to them.
Where have you previously seen Vanessa Hehir?
Vanessa has made numerous popular TV appearances.
She played the role of Gail Smethurst in Heartbeat in 2001.
She did, however, return to Heartbeat in 2004 and took on the role of Rosie Cartwright, which she did so in until 2007.
Fans of Waterloo Road may also be familiar with Vanessa from the BBC school drama where she played Sue Spark, a science teacher, in seasons nine and ten.
Not the first soap Vanessa has appeared in is Coronation Street.
She portrayed Nurse Summers in Emmerdale from 2010 to 2011.
Jackson Walsh was cared for by Nurse Summers while he was in the hospital following his accident.
Along with these shows, Vanessa has appeared in The Dumping Ground, Midsomer Murders, Grease Monkeys, Hustle, Stella, Unforgotten, Holby City, and Down to Earth.
In the 2010 movie West is West, she also played Esther.
Esther’s role in the plot involving Summer’s pregnancy on Coronation Street
Esther appears to have a role to play in Summer’s upcoming pregnancy storyline.
Scenes from next week show Summer assisting Esther with the clothing exchange.
Esther thanks Summer for all of her assistance, and Summer tells her that she recently got dumped by her boyfriend Aaron and that it’s best to concentrate on the good.
Later, Gemma displays a jacket she purchased at the clothing exchange to Chesney.
Her phone rings as she uses the restroom. When Chesney goes to get it from his jacket pocket, a positive pregnancy test spills out.
When Gemma informs him that it is not his, they go on the hunt for its rightful owner.
Paul, Gemma’s brother, conceals his shock as he recognizes the jacket as Summer’s.
Paul seeks out Summer and inquires about the exam.
Summer informs Paul that she and Aaron are back together and that they will decide together whether to have a child.
Summer accepts Esther’s invitation to lunch as a token of appreciation.
Aaron and Summer find out Billy was also invited when they get there.
When Paul shows up and remarks on Summer’s condition, Billy realizes she is pregnant.
Esther chases after Summer as she flees.
She is informed by Esther in Victoria Garden that she and Mike are unable to have children.
Summer is shocked when she says she might be open to adopting the child.
