Fiz Stape and Tyrone Dobbs’ wedding is scheduled for the winter, so Coronation Street viewers will finally get to see them exchange vows.
Tyrone (Alan Halsall) decides in scenes airing next week that it’s time for him to propose to Fiz (Jennie McAlpine), putting an end to the couple’s turbulent year. Hope (Isabella Flanagan), the daughter of Fiz and the late murderous John, has caused the couple some issues because of her obsession with him. Even though it’s a festive occasion, could Hope have other ideas in mind?
Fans have watched as a troubled young Hope has started to display alarming traits reminiscent of her dangerous father over the last few weeks.
Fiz and Tyrone have done everything in their power to prevent Hope from learning just how evil John really was, despite the recent publication of a book detailing his murders.
Although they failed, Hope decided to read a passage from her father’s book in class as she grew more fascinated with him.
But when two older children called her a “nut job,” the 11-year-old threatened them with a hammer, which led to her suspension.
In scenes that will air the following week, Hope returns to school, but Fiz and Tyrone are questioned about their family history by the school counselor.
Later, Tyrone decides it’s time to marry Fiz and gets down on one knee to pop the question.
Saying yes, the couple celebrates their engagement before being abruptly stopped by the knock on the door of the author of the tell-all book about John.
He apologizes for the interruption and hands Fiz a bag containing all of his information about the murderer, saying he doesn’t want it to get into the wrong hands.
Gemma hides it in a cupboard as Fiz asks Chesney to hide it at their home because she doesn’t want it to stay at theirs.
Hope, who is still interested in learning more about her father, suggests to friends Sam and Joseph that they hold a séance in an effort to make contact with him after death.
The bag Fiz asked to be hidden falls out as Joseph, who is getting hungry, goes to the cabinet for a snack.
The three children stare at the pictures of the killer as the contents of the box spill out, completely terrified by the whole ordeal.
Fiz and Tyrone give her a new laptop for her birthday, but she requests an old cassette player instead.
She rushes home to listen to one of the tapes she found of her father after winning the pass-the-parcel game at her party.
With her recent engagement on her mind, Fiz admits she’s dreading the upcoming planning and says she wishes they could just skip to the big day.
Tyrone develops a covert plan while listening to his future wife, and he tells Chesney that he has changed their wedding date to Christmas Day so that Fiz will be completely surprised.
Hope might be able to prevent Fiz and Tyrone’s happy ending, but she is unaware of how much her daughter is consumed with terrible stories about her father.
According to an Express.co.uk theory, Hope may be motivated by one of her dad’s horrific tales on the big day itself and choose to carry out the same heinous deed.
It’s possible that she already exhibited violent tendencies toward the two girls at school because she believes Tyrone is attempting to take her father’s place and she intervenes to make sure that never happens.
