Georgia Taylor and Charlie De Melo, stars of Coronation Street, sparked romance rumors with a cute selfie.
Georgia, who portrays Toyah Battersby in the ITV soap opera, shared a photo of herself on her birthday traveling to Arthur’s Seat in Edinburgh with Charlie de Melo, who plays Imran Habeeb.
The soap star captioned the photo of herself and her former on-screen husband Charlie with, “Birthday treat up Arthur’s Seat,” and an emoticon of a heart.
Georgia’s fellow actors were quick to respond. Millie Gibson, who played Kelly Neelan, Toyah and Imran’s foster daughter, wrote: “Ahhh you two,” followed by two heart emojis.
Gareth Pierce, who plays Todd Grimshaw, tweeted: “Happy birthday, smasher! Give that De Melo beauty my love.
The former co-stars have been spending a lot of time together lately. They previously attended a performance of The Ocean by one of their friends, Charlie Brooks, who is best known for playing Janine Butcher on the BBC One soap opera EastEnders.
Georgia and Charlie’s representatives have been contacted by Metro.co.uk for comment.
Charlie had been portraying Imran Habeeb on Coronation Street up until last year, when the character was abruptly killed off while attempting to save his wife Toyah from falling debris following a car accident.
When asked about his exit strategy, Charlie recalled, “I was first told on a Zoom call with Georgia.” We were given a preview of what to expect in the months ahead, which were leading up to Christmas [2021].
We were kind of hoping to get a sense of what was going on because I started to become very choosy about the tasks I was given because I thought I wouldn’t get another chance to do them well.
Georgia and Mark Letheren, her partner of 14 years, were said to have broken up earlier this year.
According to reports, the Toyah Battersby actress and Mark, who starred in The Bill, split up in the summer of 2016.
