After only a few months, Lauren Bolton left Coronation Street on Wednesday night.
Lauren Bolton has been a prominent character in a plot involving Max Turner (Paddy Bever), who was encouraged to spread racism by extremist Griff Reynolds (Michael Condron). Actress Cait Fitton wrote a heartfelt ode to her Coronation Street co-stars as her part in the plot came to an end.
In November 2022, Lauren made her first appearance as Max’s potential love interest on the venerable ITV soap opera.
She was essential in grooming Max and convincing him to make videos for Griff because her father was a member of Griff’s gang.
Max was completely smitten with Lauren and did anything Griff asked of him to win her over.
But in the most recent episodes, they parted ways as Lauren left Weatherfield.
Due to his involvement in Griff’s plot to blow up the peace festival and the cobblestones, Lauren’s father could spend time in jail.
Lauren is relocating to Devon to live with her mother out of fear that Griff might come after her.
Since they are both the number one enemy of the public, she met Max and asked him if he wanted to accompany her.
Max was heartbroken to say goodbye to Lauren even though he ultimately chose to remain on Coronation Street.
Cait wrote a touching remembrance of her time on the ITV soap on her Instagram page.
She stated, “Wow! What a fantastic few months we’ve had on the cobbles!
“I want to begin by expressing my gratitude to all of my family, friends, and of course the show’s supporters who have taken the time to get in touch and offer their support.
“It has truly been a once in a lifetime experience!
“I would like to express my sincere gratitude to @coronationstreet for accepting me with open arms and giving me the opportunity to participate in such a significant plotline.
I’d like to express my gratitude to my agent, Brookekinsella, for consistently supporting me and assisting me in realizing one of my most cherished goals.
Later, Cait praised her co-star Paddy and made a suggestion that they might work together again.
She thanked her “on-screen partner in crime,” @paddybever, in her post.
“Paddy, you are a true gem and an amazing talent. I am honored to have worked with you.
“You are the hardest-working, kindest person I know. I appreciate you taking me under your wing and letting me feel like I was a part of something special.
“For the time being, we bid ‘Lauren Bolton’ farewell, but hopefully you won’t see Max and Loz any time soon! #TeamLax.”
As he is unable to escape Griff’s grasp, Max’s storyline is expected to continue. Could he eventually regret not leaving with Lauren?
