The baby son of Lucy Fallon and Ryan Ledson from Coronation Street has been named, along with the sweet meaning behind it.
At the end of January, the actress, best known for playing Bethany Platt in the ITV soap opera, gave birth to her first child.
The sweet social media post that shared the news was captioned “Our beautiful boy” and included the date January 30.
The image, which was in black and white, showed Lucy radiantly holding their newborn son as they sat on the sofa.
The actress has recently opened up about naming their child, admitting that it was one of the few names that she and Ryan could actually agree on.
Sonny Jude is the name they revealed for their infant.
I continued to add names to a list. Ryan didn’t like many of the names that I did. Some of them were a little strange, like “Fox,” she admitted to OK! Magazine.
We both broke down in happy tears when Sonny was finally born.
Football player Ryan further stated that there was “no chance” that his son would have a “quirky” name and disclosed that as the pregnancy went on, the couple kept “calling him Sonny.”
How lovely!
When announcing that she had a bun in the oven last year, Lucy, who was 19 weeks pregnant at the time, said: ‘We’ve been keeping it a secret. I’m scared but excited.’
Lucy also bravely revealed that she had a miscarriage in March 2022, finding out the devastating news when the couple went for an early seven-week scan.
Describing it as ‘traumatising and horrendous,’ Lucy added to OK! at the time: ‘I had pregnancy symptoms and I was feeling really unwell and when they were doing all these scans my symptoms were getting worse and worse and there were no signs I had had a miscarriage, so that made it more of a shock.’
The couple added that they were surprised to fall pregnant so soon after the miscarriage and that it was clearly ‘meant to happen’.
