Kym Marsh, who has appeared in Coronation Street and Waterloo Road, will lead the cast of the Take That musical Best Days this May in Manchester. Emilie Cunliffe, her daughter, will also be present.
The production, which was composed by Tim Firth, honors Pray, the boy band’s first UK number one hit, which was released thirty years ago. It includes more than 15 Take That songs and tells the narrative of five closest friends who were devoted followers of the band in the 1990s before coming together more than two decades later to arrange to see their idols again.
Both Kym and Emilie will portray Rachel at various points throughout her life.
I’m excited to be making a comeback to theatre and joining the cast of Greatest Days, Kim said. When Take That was at the height of their glory, I was in my early twenties. Of course, I was a great Take That fan—who wasn’t?
“As it does for so many other people, their music transports me back to so many memorable moments in my life.” I’m ecstatic to be working alongside my daughter, Emilie. I’m excited to perform on stage alongside her since she is a great talent.
Following in her mother’s footsteps into the entertainment industry, Emilie has made appearances on The Voice and Britain’s Got Talent. Her debut album is set to be released this year.
Being able to work alongside her is a dream come true for her because they are very close. I’m pleased to be a part of the Greatest Days cast. What a privilege it is to be a part of this amazing musical honoring Take That, whose music I grew up listening to with my mother.
In the second season of the relaunched Waterloo Road, in which Kym plays dinner lady Nicky Walters, she has lately stated that she has been filming. The first season of the sitcom premiered at the start of this year to rousing applause from viewers who watched Nicky (Noah Valentine) coping with money concerns while being ignorant of Preston’s (Noah Valentine) multiple problems, including an eating disorder.
Kym was well-known to Coronation Street viewers for her long-running role as Michelle Connor before moving to Waterloo Road, and she has previously stated that she wouldn’t rule out a return to the Weatherfield. I have a great soft spot for Corrie, and I’m sure I’ll step foot on those cobblestones once more, she remarked.
From May 16 to May 27, viewers may catch Kym and Emilie in Greatest Days at Manchester’s Palace Theatre.
Greatest Days is a lovely, upbeat show with memorable music and a compelling plot, and Kym predicted that viewers would adore it.
