Summer Spellman of Coronation Street is upset in upcoming episodes after learning that she wronged her adoptive father Billy Mayhew.
Despite Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) thinking she had an abortion, pregnant teenager Summer Spellman (played by Harriet Bibby) recently decided to keep her baby to give to Mike (Tom Lorcan) and Esther Hargrave (Vanessa Hehir). Her secret could be revealed in upcoming scenes.
Coronation Street viewers have seen Summer struggle to make decisions during her pregnancy with Aaron Sandford over the last few episodes (James Craven).
Her adoptive father Billy strongly opposed the abortion she had initially chosen because of his religious convictions.
Without her father’s knowledge, Summer ultimately decided against going through with the termination, though he later made the decision to support whatever she did.
She was also motivated to make a U-turn when Ester offered her money to keep the child after she and her husband Mike had trouble getting pregnant.
The pregnant teen tells Esther and Mike that they can adopt her child but she’ll need £10,000 up front in order to proceed because she knows her boyfriend Aaron needs it to send his father to rehab.
Billy is worried when he sees Summer puking in the sink because he thinks she has already carried out the termination and that her eating disorder has returned.
In scenes that will air the following week, Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) is shocked to learn that Summer is leaving to live with Amy and Jacob in the builder’s yard flat.
Billy admits to Todd that he feels he has been far too intrusive with Summer later on in the Rovers.
Summer speaks with Billy and has a heart-to-heart with him, telling the teenager that her dad is really hurt by her moving out.
She expresses to her father how much she loves him and how much she will miss living with him.
Summer isn’t persuaded to change her mind, though, as the soon-to-be mother feels unable to be honest with her dad.
However, if Ester and Mike decide to meet Summer and Aaron at the apartment at the same time as Billy, things could get complicated.
Could Summer’s game be over after her dad made it clear he was horrified at the idea of her selling her baby, sending her into a panic?

According to an Express.co.uk theory, Billy starts to put the puzzle pieces together as soon as he sees Mike and Esther in the apartment and starts to ask questions.
Esther and Mike innocently tell him they’re checking on the pregnant teen while being unaware that he doesn’t know she’s giving them their baby.
Billy storms out of the apartment in a rage, forcing Summer to explain everything to him and putting their relationship in jeopardy.
Speaking about the ITV soap opera character she plays, actress Harriet Bibby concedes that Paul being the first to learn of her pregnancy was best.
“Paul finds it all out first and he’s probably the most understanding dad,” she said. “Unlike Billy, he sees her as a young woman and isn’t constantly concerned about her.
But when Todd and Billy learn, they react like panic stations; it’s sort of the opposite reaction, and that’s all we need to know to decide.
Instead of accepting it and allowing her to make a decision at her own pace, “they want to figure it all out now.”
