Summer Spellman, a young person on Coronation Street, will be devastated when her abortion is rejected by her guardian Billy Mayhew.
Harriet Bibby’s character Summer Spellman recently learned she was carrying James Craven’s character Aaron Sandford’s (ex-boyfriend) child. In upcoming Coronation Street scenes, the teen informs Aaron that she intends to abort the child, devastating Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank). Will Billy reject Summer as a result of her choice?
ITV soaps have revealed some spoilers. Summer informs Aaron that she has scheduled a consultation for an abortion with Dr. Gaddas.
The child tells Aaron that after visiting the doctor, she is unable to help but feel upset about the termination.
Since Esther Hargrave (Vanessa Hehir) really wants a child, she is hurt to learn about the intended termination and offers money to Summer in an effort to persuade her to reconsider.
Billy, who later discovers Esther was attempting to buy Summer’s baby, is horrified and tells her to leave.
When Esther is not present, he implies to Summer that he is against abortion in general.
After being devastated by Billy’s response, Summer goes to her room.
Later, Todd Grimshaw (Bruno Langley) tells Billy how Summer is feeling as a result of his rejection.
He tells Billy that in order to help the child through this challenging time in her life.
Will Billy heed Todd’s counsel and begin assisting Summer in the months that follow her choice?
If Billy declines to back her abortion, how will Summer handle the situation?
Could she break off her relationship with him and try to live her life without him?
Since she and her partner are unable to have children of their own, Esther wanted Summer’s child.
In heartbreaking scenes earlier this week, a tearful Summer revealed to her ex-boyfriend Aaron that she was expecting.
She told him, “I’ve got something to tell you, and this is probably not the best time or place.
“I just found out this morning, and I’m sorry for just saying it like that, but I’m pregnant.”
“That’s okay, thank you for telling me,” Aaron comforted her with a hug.
I’m sorry you had to handle this on your own, he continued.
He declared his love for Summer and pledged that they would face “whatever happens together.”
The pregnancy storyline left many viewers in tears, and Madeline Masterson tweeted that she “loved this scene.” I especially like the turns in Aaron’s story, where he is a young caretaker with a broken abusive parent; it opens up a complex issue as it should. These two play brilliant characters and carry such high-profile storylines.
