Hope Stape, a young character on Coronation Street, seems determined to do whatever it takes to get rid of Tyrone Dobbs and Fiz Stape from her life after feeling deeply betrayed by them.
On Coronation Street, Hope Stape (Isabella Flanagan) may decide to distance herself from Fiz Stape (Jennie McAlpine) and Tyrone Dobbs (Adam Halsall) after her mother’s private relationship with serial killer John Stape (Graeme Hawley) is made public for Weatherfield to see. Will Hope be able to forgive Fiz and Tyrone for not intervening to stop the publication of information about her murderous father?
Spoilers for Coronation Street have revealed When Fiz meets with the author of a book about John, she requests that the name of Hope be changed.
Tyrone later discovers a flyer promoting a Q&A session about the aforementioned book, though.
Tyrone decides to visit the hotel room where the Q&A session is currently taking place because he is curious.
When the journalist facilitating the session implies that Fiz was involved in her husband’s crimes, things start to go south.
In a fit of rage, Tyrone jumps up on the stage and slaps the journalist across the face; the hotel manager then calls the police.
Fiz quickly learns that Tyrone has been detained for assaulting the book’s journalist.
Thankfully, her plea to him to drop Tyrone’s charges succeeds.
Tyrone is freed from arrest by the police, who also inform him that Fiz manipulated the journalist.
Back at home, during a heated argument with Tyrone, Fiz loses it.
Fiz demonstrates to him a video of him punching the journalist and informs him that due to its viral success, they have moved up the book’s release date to the end of the week.
Fiz and Tyrone are informed by Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) that he has spoken with a libel attorney, but there is no guarantee they will prevail and their costs alone will be £100,000.
Hope must be informed that the book will be published as a deflated Fiz and Tyrone are powerless to stop it.
The child lashes out at the couple and berates them for failing to shield her.
Later, after receiving complaints regarding the video, the police make a call, and officers detain Tyrone on suspicion of assault.
Soon after Tyrone’s arrest becomes known to Chesney Brown (Sam Aston), Hope tells her mother that she wants to stay with Chesney. Is their family in trouble?
Tyrone purchases all of the inventory from the neighborhood bookshop in an effort to protect Hope in the hopes that nobody will read the book.
Tyrone diverts Hope’s attention in the hallway as Fiz hides the books about her evil ex from her.
But when a grumpy Hope kicks open the outhouse door, she is shocked to see her real father’s cardboard cutout and a stack of books.
