Gemma Winter (Dolly-Rose Campbell) recently told Chesney Brown (Sam Aston) that she’d quite like to get married in Coronation Street, and let’s just say things haven’t exactly been going well since then.
Because of the cost-of-living crisis, Gemma and Chesney can’t really afford a wedding at the minute, but they’re working hard to save up through Gemma’s new childminding job and Chesney’s work at the kebab shop.
Chesney and Gemma’s savings are being collected in an old tub from the kebab but next week, it becomes apparent all of that cash has disappeared – and Ches is the one responsible!
With Chesney busy wanting to launch his burger project – ChesBurgers – Gemma accuses him of putting the business plan before their wedding.
Popping by at No.5, Paul (Peter Ash) finds Gemma swamped with kids and she explains that she doesn’t have a choice, she needs to earn more as Chesney’s blown the wedding fund on his food idea.
Annoyed by the constant bickering, Paul tells Gemma that he’ll chip in towards the wedding if it stops the couple arguing.
But what will she say?
