Eileen Grimshaw, a stalwart of Coronation Street, takes a significant fall on Halloween that will alter her life forever.
This week on Coronation Street, Sue Cleaver’s character Eileen Grimshaw will go through a transformational event. She sustains a startling injury as Halloween approaches that seems to have a lasting impact on the Weatherfield veteran.
ITV soap opera spoilers reveal how Glenda Shuttleworth (Jodie Prenger) arrives at No. 11 with a sizable pumpkin to carve and display at the Rovers.
Eileen, however, feels as though she is treating her home like a workshop, which irritates her.
When Eileen picks up Glenda’s pumpkin and leaves with it, she bumps into Gail Platt (Helen Worth) on the sidewalk, trips over the pumpkin, and passes out.
Sean Tully (Antony Cotton), who is worried, and her friend George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley) rush to Eileen’s aid.
She turns around, however, and the two are taken aback by how calm and collected she seems.
A happy Eileen tells her partner George at number 11 that she plans to spoil him rotten.
Sean learns that George is beginning to feel threatened by Eileen’s overly friendly demeanor.
Eileen tells George about her experience and how illuminating it was for her to come to after her collision with Gail.
She continues by telling him that she saw a glimpse of heaven and has felt serene and at peace ever since.
Eileen tells George and Sean Tully (Antony Cotton) about her “heaven” experience, including the bright light, sweet aroma, and strange music she experienced.
The two are worried about Eileen because it is obvious that she is still experiencing the effects of her accident.
Then Eileen stumbles in with the groceries and announces her intention to prepare a meal for the soup kitchen.
Todd, her son, tells George that she obviously has a problem (Bruno Langley).
Eileen is advised by Mary (Patti Clare) to write an article about her heavenly encounter for The Inexplicable.
But George is forced to tell her the truth because he feels guilty even though he knows it’s the right thing to do.
How will Eileen respond when she learns what actually occurred and that divine intervention was not the cause?
