The conflict between Ken Barlow and Martha Fraser will soon be seen by viewers of Coronation Street.
ITV viewers were shocked to see Martha Fraser return after a long absence last week (played by Stephanie Beacham). Ken Barlow (Bill Roache), who had recently rekindled his romance with Wendy Crozier, appeared shaken by her appearance (Roberta Kerr). Fans will see the tension between the pair becoming apparent to those around them in scenes scheduled to air next week.
Last week, when Martha made the decision to rejoin the soap opera after leaving 13 years prior, shockwaves were sent through Weatherfield.
Though Ken, who had once had an affair with Martha behind his wife Deidre Barlow’s (Anne Kirkbride) back, was the one who was most shocked to see her face again.
She was asked by Nigel (Richard Ellis), to give Mary (Patti Clare), who needed to tone down her performance for the Community Center play, some acting advice.
But Ken found himself getting closer to his ex-girlfriend despite not knowing she’d be working so closely with them all.
Fans will see Mary experience a panic attack in scenes that will air the following week as they rehearse for their performance.
However, with Martha nearby, she consoles and mentors the inexperienced performer, resulting in a fantastic show later on.
After their successful performance, Martha makes the decision to invite everyone to a party that evening.
In order to avoid inviting his partner, Ken makes up Wendy’s absence by saying she has a busy schedule, while he is more than happy to attend.
Brian begins to feel uneasy as he observes their obvious chemistry and their sparks.
According to an thesuns.info theory, Ken is once more caught in a love triangle, but this time he has to decide between his two previous relationships.
Ken may have had a few too many drinks at the after-show party because he is left alone with Martha.
Could Ken be swept up at this time as old feelings take over given the pair’s isolation, a good show, and alcohol in the mix?
Prior to the actress’s return to Coronation Street, a source revealed to MailOnline that Stephanie believed there was unfinished business with Martha.
They predicted that Ken in particular would be greatly upset by her appearance in Weatherfield.
Fans can anticipate some compelling storylines. She hasn’t appeared on the soap in a while, but many of the characters haven’t forgotten about her.
Not only is this romance heating up in the soap, but viewers will also soon get to see a long-awaited proposal.
Tyrone (Alan Halsall) decides that now is the perfect time to propose to Fiz. He kneels down to do so (Jennie McAlpine).
Even though she agrees, Fiz later admits that she wishes they could both just skip ahead to the wedding because she isn’t looking forward to planning one.
Tyrone confides in Chesney after hearing her wish and explains that he moved their big day to Christmas without telling Fiz.
